‘Today’ Show Host Jason Kennedy Has Just Sold His Sprawling California Home for $3.9 Million
Jason Kennedy, whose face is familiar to viewers of NBC’s "Today" show, just found a buyer for his sprawling property in Agoura Hills, a small town tucked into the Santa Monica Mountains in Los Angeles County. The luxe home had just completed a major renovation.
Stephen Sweeney of The Beverly Hills Estates, who represented the listing, says the 4,703-square-foot home on a 1.5-acre lot was sold in 45 days.
In 2023, Kennedy listed the four-bedroom, five-bath home as a rental property, asking $18,500 per month and then reducing it to $18,000.

Kennedy snapped up the home for $2,400,000, paying $95,000 less than the initial asking price in 2018.
“They did an exceptional job renovating the space,” says Sweeney, “with a thoughtfully curated selection of furnishings. The design aesthetic is what truly distinguishes it, reflecting a significant investment of time and care in the furniture choices.”
The home, which is located in a gated community called Vintage at Hidden Park, features updated spa baths and a kitchen equipped with top-tier appliances, stone countertops, and custom cabinetry.
Each of the five bedrooms is en suite, with the primary suite boasting dual walk-in closets. Also in the home is a private gym, a sauna, nontoxic finishes, and a whole-house water filtration system, all tapping into wellness.

Though the home is 35 miles from downtown Los Angeles and 30 miles from Beverly Hills, its Agoura Hills location is currently trending, says Sweeney. This was a key focus in marketing the listing. Just 12 miles away are Malibu’s beaches, for example, and hiking spots are easily accessible.
“Given the circumstances surrounding the fires, many families were forced to relocate to areas that had not been affected,” he says.
Lots of outdoor entertaining space was another attractive feature of the home, including a pool, lush landscaping, mature trees, and a dining area. The listing also included a four-car garage and space for parking.
With only 20,000 people, Agoura Hills is a family-friendly community, which might be what enticed Kennedy and model/fashion blogger Lauren Scruggs Kennedy to plant roots there. In 2022, the couple had their first child, followed by another in 2023. When staging the home, two nurseries were included, with an eye on possibly attracting a family.
In addition to guest-hosting the "Today" show, Kennedy is a former "E! News" host.
Around the same time that he bought the Agoura Hills home, he listed his 1964 house in Studio City, near Comcast’s Universal Studios complex, for $2,400,000. This is the same price as the accepted offer on the Agoura Hills house.
Paying just $900,000 for the Studio City home a decade earlier, Kennedy embarked on a full remodel, which featured sliding barn doors, a farmhouse-style kitchen, and wide-plank wood flooring.
