A $995K Midcentury Home Near Lake George Comes with 60 Acres and a Silo Tower

An eye-catching midcentury residence nestled on 60.86 tree-lined acres in Hague, NY has just hit the market for $995,000.

Built in 1965 and originally designed by architect Mike Foil of Foil Wyatt Architects & Planners, the stunning three-bedroom residence features 2,292 square feet of recently restored space.

"The privacy, the land, and the uniqueness of the contemporary residence are what stands out the most," said listing agent Melissa S. O'Reilly of Four Seasons Sotheby's International Realty. "It is also close to Lake George, which is very popular for boating and fishing."

A stylish wood-clad open floor plan features exposed beams, vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors, half-moon-shaped windows, a loft-style living space, and a spiral staircase leading up to a silo with a lookout area.

"It has a lot of original woodwork and custom windows," O'Reilly said. "The catwalk from the silo opening up to the outdoors is also pretty cool."

A two-story interior also offers a wood-clad living room with a wood-burning stove insert and a modern chef's kitchen with a breakfast bar, a stainless-steel farmer's sink, and custom cabinetry.

The primary suite has sliding barn doors opening to a walk-in closet and a modern bathroom with a walk-in shower and dual-sink vanity.

"The home was owned in the '70s by John Schmitt, who was a center for the New York Jets and helped the team win Super Bowl III," O'Reilly said.

"I think the next buyer will be looking for privacy or someone wanting to hike or hunt on the property. We get a lot of buyers out this way from New York City wanting to be in the Adirondacks and enjoy some family time outside."

The property last sold for $220,000 in 2024 when the sellers purchased it and decided to restore both the interior and exterior.

A sunroom with flagstone flooring has sliders that open up to the pool area.

"Outside, the sellers repaired what used to be a tennis court," O'Reilly added. "It's now an open recreation area that serves as a blank canvas for the next buyer to decide what they want to use it for."

O'Reilly said the area could continue to be used as a sports court or enjoyed as an entertainment space for gatherings.

Located minutes away from Hague's waterfront, beaches, boating, and dining, the expansive property also has an attached oversized garage with a dedicated workshop and additional space that could be used to store boats or other recreational equipment, as well as a detached garage.

O'Reilly said the property might also be subdivided but encouraged buyers to do their due diligence.
