"Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" star Mikayla Matthews broke down in tears as she revealed that she and her family are moving out of their longtime Utah home—a property she claims left her feeling "depressed and sick."

The 26-year-old reality TV personality took to TikTok to document the emotional milestone, revealing that she and her husband, Jace Terry, are leaving behind the house where they raised their four children as they prepare to start a new chapter in a custom-built residence.

Although Matthews has previously spoken about the toll that living in the property has taken on her physical and mental health, she admitted that saying goodbye proved more difficult than she anticipated.

"We just packed up things to move out of our house. I didn’t think I would be this emotional about it," she confessed through tears while sitting in her car.

"This house has been like a huge stressor in my life, but it’s also brought us ... we just created our whole family there, brought all our babies home there," she continued.

The emotional video offered a glimpse into the conflicting feelings Matthews has experienced while preparing to leave the property behind.

Despite associating the residence with years of health struggles, the reality TV star acknowledged that it also served as the backdrop for some of her family's most cherished memories.

The TikTok featured a montage of heartwarming family moments captured inside the home over the years, juxtaposed with footage documenting the painful skin flare-ups Matthews has experienced amid her ongoing health battle.

Toward the end of the video, Matthews offered a glimpse of what lies ahead, sharing footage of herself standing inside the wooden framework of her family's new home, which remains under construction.

The move represents far more than a change of address for Matthews, who revealed that her experience living in the previous property has had a lasting impact on her mental well-being.

"No one talks about what it’s like to be living in a home that’s making you sick. For years, it’s made me anxious, depressed, dysregulated, and unsafe in the place I should feel the safest," she explained.

"And left me with PTSD, making it hard to feel safe in any building or living environment."

Matthews elaborated on her decision to leave the home in the video's caption, explaining that her health struggles have made the process far more complicated than simply putting the property on the market.

"We bought a home," she began.

"I want to go so much more in-depth on this because I get SO many comments of ‘why don’t you just sell your home, etc.’ it’s such a complex illness and the mental side of #cirs that I think need to be talked about more," Matthews said, referring to chronic inflammatory response syndrome,.

The reality TV star has been candid about her battle with CIRS, a condition she has attributed to prolonged mold exposure.

In March, Matthews revealed that she believed her chronic illness had been triggered by extended exposure to mold-related toxins.

She has also spoken openly about the devastating effect her symptoms have had on her confidence, social life, and ability to participate in professional opportunities.

"This condition has stolen literally everything from me," she previously admitted. "I had like a year and half where I couldn’t look people in the eyes. I felt like if I didn’t look them in the eyes, then they couldn’t see my skin. It’s something I’m still working on."

Matthews explained that her skin struggles had prompted her to withdraw from numerous social and professional events, although she remained determined to share her experiences with others facing similar challenges.

"I have said no to SO MANY fun events, premiers, and opportunities because of my skin, but I show up when I can because I want you guys that are in similar situations to feel seen and know that life doesn’t have to stop when shitty things are happening to you."

Her latest update comes just weeks after she announced in September that she would not be returning for the sixth season of "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives."

Matthews is not the only cast member to step away from the reality TV series.

Fellow star Taylor Frankie Paul has also reportedly departed the show amid an ongoing legal dispute with her former partner, Dakota Mortensen, following allegations that she failed a drug test.

For Matthews, however, the focus is now on leaving behind a home she associates with years of physical and emotional distress while building a new place for her family to create memories.
