Noah Wyle has officially been named the “Sexiest Man Alive” by People magazine, and as part of the ceremonial cover story, ‘The Pitt’ star opened up about his home life—dishing on the chores and tasks he’s happy to fill his time with.

The actor, 55, who has been married to fellow performer Sara Wyle, 46, since 2014, explained that he likes to “dabble in just about every domestic activity,” but there’s one room in the house you’re most likely to find him in.

“I am the dish maven. The sink is my domain. And I would recommend more guys get into the dishwashing of it all, because it’s a very therapeutic activity,” he said in a People Magazine Instagram post. “You can just zone out and think about whatever you want while you’re doing those dishes.”

Wyle joked that although his penchant for scrubbing pots and pans may seem very productive, it’s really a sly way to get more time to himself.

“While you’re doing those dishes, and thinking about whatever you want, it looks to the rest of the world as if you’re just contributing in a really significant way. But you’re really hiding,” he continued.

“You’re not having to participate in things you don’t want to participate in. You can just hang out in the kitchen, think your thoughts, do those dishes,” said Wyle.

Although the “ER” alum attempted to pass off his dishwashing as a selfish activity, he did admit that he and his wife split many of the household tasks. They split cooking, pet care, and parenting responsibilities down the middle.

A typical day in the Wyle household sees the television doctor making breakfast for his wife and their 11-year-old daughter, Frances.

Wyle also shares two adult children—a son, Owen, 23, and a daughter, Auden, 20—with his ex-wife, makeup artist Tracy Warbin.

“I have a daily journal practice. I try to exercise a little bit every day,” he shared, noting that pilates, kettle-bells, and walks with his dogs are his favorite forms of movement. “I try to read a little bit every day. Try not to scroll too much on my phone. But I rarely get a day off.”

When Wyle isn’t busy in front of the camera, he’s spending time at his “favorite place in the world”—the peaceful 80–acre piece of land he calls home.

“I’m kind of a homebody,” he said. “I have a place up in Santa Ynez, California, that’s my go-to sanctuary.”

The actor snapped up his sprawling ranch—which formerly belonged to actress Bo Derek—in 1999 with his ex-wife, Warbin. At the time, the couple purchased the home and an adjacent parcel of land for nearly $2.5 million.

The town, which is known for its historic Western aesthetic, is about a two-hour drive from Los Angeles—a distance that seems to be ideal for Wyle.

“I needed to be geographically close to Los Angeles just for practical purposes, but I didn’t want to raise my kids in Los Angeles,” he explained in a 2019 interview. “I was raised in Los Angeles. I’m an Angeleno, and I just wanted something a little bit more rural and smaller and slower than city life for my kids.”

“Two hours was about as far as I could drive after work on a Friday night when I was doing ‘ER’ and not fall asleep at the wheel,” he added.

He has also said that the property is filled with wildlife, including pigs, chickens, horses, dogs, and cats.

Wyle nearly sold his longtime home in March 2020, having briefly put it on the market for just under $6.5 million, according to Realtor.com® data.

The family has never publicly shared a reason for listing the home for just about three months before pulling it back off the market, but Wyle has previously candidly discussed some severe financial difficulties he faced around that time period, telling the New York Times he was "profoundly depressed” about his struggles during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Luckily, Wyle found major success with his role in “The Pitt” and has said the experience helped him rediscover the purpose of his work.
