Calling all train enthusiasts! Two renovated cabooses attached to a 1945 Pullman car located on an acre lot with beach access have chugged their way onto the market in Ocean City, WA.

Listed for $780,000, the "one-of-a-kind coastal escape" sits on tracks tucked away behind the fenced-in lot, which is just steps away from the Pacific Ocean.

"I have never listed a train residence before and love that it's quirky and different," says listing agent Michael Morrison, of Morrison House Sotheby's International Realty. "When you go to this house and take a turn, you see a wheel or a cog that you never saw before."

After being retired by the railway, the cars were relocated here through a painstaking process before being converted into a residence, Morrison says.

"They ended up coming by barge from Seattle, then the tracks were moved and put in place, and the trains were dropped on the railroad tracks," he adds.

Morrison believes the unique property is ideal for someone looking for a break from newer homes with trendy millennial gray walls and white crown molding.

"When you are in the main entry, the right caboose has a kitchen and dining area," he notes.

"To the left, there is a living room, bathroom, and laundry. If you go through a vestibule, it connects to the Pullman passenger car that has original metal doors. There are also original luggage racks and seating rows."

He says the seller has "reluctantly" listed the property to move closer to family. Before the seller purchased it, the property operated as a successful rental for a decade.

"It could easily pay for itself as a rental again, but you could also live there full time like the seller has," he says. "It would be a great weekend getaway for someone from Seattle."

The three-bedroom home has two bathrooms, and there's the potential to create a private suite.

Other highlights in the 1,510-square-foot interior include curved wood ceilings, a wet bar that once served passengers, metal stairs and handrails, a gas stove, vintage lights, and skylights that can be opened by hand cranking for optimum stargazing. The heating and cooling systems were recently updated.

Modernizations over the years now offer an updated kitchen with stainless-steel appliances and a cozy living room with a fireplace.

Outside, there is a koi pond, a detached two-car garage, and an outbuilding.

"There's also a drivable beach nearby as well as a deeded walking trail," Morrison says. "Using it as a rental property is the highest and best use for the property."
