Conditions will alternate between scattered showers, sunny breaks, and brief warm spells before a cooler close to the month.

By October, the average temperature drops to 46°F, about 3 degrees below normal, with only 2.5 inches of rain for the Northeast. The reduced rainfall could enhance fall foliage across the state, allowing leaves to hold their color longer. For Allentown, that means bright leaf displays and crisp air for fall activities, all while avoiding the soggy stretches of past autumns.
