Denver Broncos backup quarterback Jarret Stidham is set to make a major starting appearance when he steps into the shoes of injured football star Bo Nix to lead the team in their AFC conference championship matchup Sunday against the New England Patriots.

It is a full-circle moment for Stidham, 29, who got his professional start with the Patriots, when they drafted him in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL draft.

Stidham was once envisioned as the future of the team's lineup, with many positioning him as a potential replacement for football legend Tom Brady.

Ultimately, that dream would not become a reality, but Stidham now has an opportunity to prove how far he has come since being traded away by the Patriots in 2023, when he goes head-to-head with their starting quarterback, Drake Maye, who is a favorite to win this season's NFL MVP award.

The role is one that Stidham learned he would take on only a few days ago, after Nix, 25, suffered a season-ending ankle injury during the Broncos' nail-biting victory over the Buffalo Bills.

However, he has been given the full support of his teammates, as well as his wife, Kennedy, who recently shared some insight into what her husband's life looks like when he isn't battling for NFL glory out on the field—showcasing the sprawling Texas abode where he unwinds and kicks back away from the pressures of football.

In a recent YouTube video, she walked viewers through their custom-built home, showcasing the spaces where the quarterback relaxes, focuses, and preps for game day, while also revealing her own pregame routine.

In one clip, the Stidhams were seen celebrating Christmas with their children, Lennon, 3, Madden, 10 months, and Nella, 3 months.

They cozied up around their large living area, which was complete with an expansive floor plan, white couches, a chic fireplace, and huge windows, which allow for natural light to flood in.

In the clip, fans also see their gorgeous kitchen, which boasts state-of-the-art appliances, beige cabinetry, and a marble island.

They also show off the baby's room, which features a wooden crib and the same calm palette.

The couple built their "dream" home in Texas in 2023.

The lakefront property comes complete with a guesthouse, boat deck, and pool. There is also a sauna.

Outside, the stunning abode includes a pizza oven and a large patio that is perfect for hosting postgame gatherings.

When they finished building their home, Kennedy showcased the abode on her YouTube channel.

She captioned that video, "It's finally here!!!!! Our first home. Every little detail was thoughtfully picked and our heart and soul went into the making of our first home, designed and built from the ground up. I hope y'all enjoy the full house tour!!

Before entering the abode, guests are greeting with lush greenery, which offers the epitome of privacy.

There is also a chic arched doorway that welcomes guests inside.

The home features arched hallways and light wood floors.

The master bedroom is all white with minimal decoration.

There are also two dining areas that boast large eating tables.

Elsewhere on the property, there is an entertainment room that is adorned in black walls and covered with trophies from Stidham's career.

Stidham was drafted by the New England Patriots in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, shortly after the franchise’s Super Bowl LIII win with Brady.

For a brief period after Brady’s departure, there were rumors that Stidham would take over as New England’s starting quarterback, since he had spent time learning behind one of the game’s greatest signal‑callers and showed promise in practice and early team activities.

However, that transition never came to fruition. In 2020, Stidham spent much of the season as a third‑string backup behind Cam Newton and Brian Hoyer, and the Patriots ultimately moved on from him, trading him to Las Vegas in 2022.

New England’s coaching staff even considered bringing him back as a backup recently before ultimately choosing another option.

Now, in an ironic twist, Stidham finds himself facing the Patriots in the AFC championship game as Denver’s starter, a full circle moment that might have seemed unlikely when the Brady succession narrative was first floated.
