This fall in Beverly, MA, homeowners should prepare for a season that trends cooler and drier than usual in the autumn months.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac has released its Fall 2025 Weather Predictions, and while much of the country will see warmer-than-average conditions, New England is forecasted for a crisp, classic autumn.

At the same time, Beverly has captured national recognition as the nation’s top-ranked market on the Realtor.com®  list of 2025 Hottest ZIP Codes, making it a red hot market despite the chill in the air.

New England braces for a classic Fall

According to the Almanac, the Northeast will be cooler and drier than normal in the coming months. September will average 59°F, about two degrees below normal, with 3.5 inches of rainfall—wetter to the north and drier to the south. October will cool further, averaging 46°F with only 2.5 inches of rain.

Massachusetts specifically is forecasted to experience a cool and dry season, meaning homeowners can expect brisk days, lower humidity, and fewer storms. The drier conditions may also yield particularly vivid foliage, giving Beverly and surrounding North Shore communities an especially scenic autumn.

Nationally, the outlook diverges. States across the Atlantic Corridor, Southeast, and much of the West will see warmer-than-normal temperatures, while the Northeast and Appalachians hold onto a more traditional fall feel.

Beverly tops the nation as 2025’s Hottest ZIP Code

Beyond its weather, Beverly’s housing market is shining. The Realtor.com report named Beverly’s 01915 the hottest ZIP code in America for 2025, with homes receiving nearly five times more listing views than the national average and selling 30 to 42 days faster than typical properties.

In June, Beverly’s median listing price was $746,000, more than $250,000 above the U.S. norm at that time. Yet, that figure remained nearly 16% below the Boston metro median of $855,000, making Beverly a relative bargain for buyers seeking proximity to Boston with a coastal lifestyle.

Other New England ZIPs also earned top spots, including Leominster, MA (01453) at #3 and Trumbull, CT (06611) at #7. Collectively, they highlight strong demand across the Northeast, where inventory remains tight and suburban communities with easy access to major metros continue to draw buyers.

September home maintenance must-dos for Beverly residents

As cooler weather approaches, early fall offers the perfect window to tackle seasonal maintenance. Homeowners in Beverly can get ahead of New England’s colder months by:

  • Checking walkways for cracks. “Fix walkway and entryway areas before slippery weather can cause a tripping or falling accident,” advises Ryan Williams, general manager of 128 Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric.
  • Cleaning siding. Chris Granger of Sears Home Services notes that September is a prime time to wash away mildew and inspect for damage.
  • Sweeping the chimney. “Built-up soot in your chimney can increase your risk of a chimney fire,” warns Lindsey Pasieka of ConsumerSafety.org.
  • Sealing windows. Foggy glass may signal failed seals. Professional resealing can prevent drafts and improve energy efficiency before heating season.

The Realtor.com September home maintenance checklist offers a step-by-step guide for these and other seasonal tasks.
