This small, metal home in Oklahoma is big on style. Efficiently designed and minimalist in architecture, it offers plenty of room for growth.

The newly built, 830-square-foot dwelling sits on 5 acres in Luther. It’s available for $314,000.

“An architect and owner got together and designed it, and it’s like none other. It’s fabulous,” says listing agent Judie Schwerdtfeger, with Flotilla. “There’s a big patio and outdoor living space, and there’s cedar on the front of the house.”

Metal construction was built to last.

Originally, the one-bedroom, one-bathroom home was going to be a vacation rental, and the plan was to build a second, bigger residence nearby. But Schwerdtfeger says the owner’s plans changed, so he’s selling.

A shipping container is also on the land.

“He’s got it sectioned off and has it heated and cooled. He was using it as an office,” she says.

There’s also an underground storm shelter that can fit 10 people, but the home itself was built to stand up to the elements.

“It was engineered for wind shear and for high energy efficiency,” explains co-listing agent Mike Schwerdtfeger, Judie’s husband. “They recessed all of the baseboards so the baseboards don’t protrude out into the room like a normal home.”

Currently, the home has one bedroom, but a divider could convert it into two bedrooms.

“It’s just a unique engineered structure. There’s no wasted space in it. They utilize every square foot in the structure,” Mike explains.

The land itself is a selling point.

“It’s a beautiful piece of property,” Judie adds. “It’s rolling terrain, and some of the trees have been cleared off, but there are a lot of trees left. You can see the pond from the front porch.”

She says the city has approved the construction of an additional residential structure.

“It could be multigenerational, if someone wanted to build another house and have parents or kids living on the property in a separate residence,” she continues.
