Colombia Remains the Top Country Searching for Miami Real Estate as India Climbs the List
Colombia has once again logged the most web searches for Miami real estate, according to a report from the Miami Association of Realtors on Tuesday.
Of all the international searches on MiamiRealtors.com last month, 11.2% came from Colombia, making house hunters in the country the biggest foreign cohort shopping in the city.
Colombia—which is also the top international buyer for all of South Florida real estate—has finished in the top two countries searching for Miami real estate online in each of the last 32 months.
Meanwhile, India is becoming a regular in the top 10 countries searching MiamiRealtors.com, with 6.8% of searches coming from the South Asian country.
India “has now posted two consecutive top three searching months for Miami real estate,” said Gus Fonte, the Miami Association of Realtors’ 2024 Chairman of the Board. “It speaks to the diversity of countries that are searching for Miami real estate.”
Ranking second was Russia, which held 8.1% of international searches for Miami homes.
As for specific global cities searching in Miami, Bogotá, Colombia, topped the list, followed by Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Madrid. Mumbai, India, came in at No. 4.
Florida has been the top state for international home buyers for the past 15 years, according to data from the National Association of Realtors. Last year, 47% of Florida’s home sales made by foreign buyers were in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach area, according to 2023 data from Florida Realtors.
Domestically, New York was the top state searching for Miami real estate in November, though Atlanta was the top U.S. city in searches.
