The Old Farmer’s Almanac has released its 2025 fall forecast, and for Cuyahoga Falls, OH, cooler-than-usual days are ahead.

While much of the western U.S. will feel warmer-than-normal, the Northeast, Great Lakes, and Ohio Valley regions—including northeast Ohio—are in for a brisker, drier autumn.

While a cool down is headed for the area, the suburb is still enjoying being dubbed a hot market after landing one the Realtor.com®  2025 Hottest ZIP Codes list.

Chilly weather on the way

Ohio is bracing for a cool and dry fall, according to the Almanac. In the Ohio Valley, September temperatures are expected to average 68°F, with about 2 inches of rain—an inch below normal. October will cool further, averaging 56°F, paired with another 2 inches of rainfall.

That means locals should expect a mix of sunshine and scattered showers, with short-lived warm spells followed by chilly stretches. The drier-than-normal conditions could enhance the fall foliage, offering Cuyahoga Falls residents brilliant autumn views along the Cuyahoga River and nearby parks.

A hot market despite cool conditions

While the weather points to a cooler season, Cuyahoga Falls’ housing market is running hot. The city’s 44221 ZIP code landed at No. 22 on the Realtor.com Hottest ZIP Codes of 2025 list.

Homes here are drawing 3.5× more views per property than the U.S. average and selling in just 31 days—nearly 40 days faster than typical listings nationwide. The median listing price in Cuyahoga Falls is $196,000, well below the national median of $441,000.

Nearby, Strongsville, OH (ZIP 44149) ranked even higher, at No. 6 nationally, with homes selling in just 25 days and listing at a median of $423,000. Compared to Strongsville, Cuyahoga Falls offers a more affordable entry point into the Northeast Ohio housing market, a fact that continues to attract first-time buyers and budget-conscious households.

As Danielle Hale, Chief Economist for Realtor.com, noted: “Shoppers are increasingly seeking out ZIPs with better value just outside of expensive urban cores." Cuyahoga Falls fits that mold, with strong demand driven by affordability and suburban lifestyle appeal.

Smart September prep for homeowners

With cooler days on the way, September offers a critical window for maintenance. Experts recommend tackling outdoor and indoor chores now, before freezing temps arrive.

“Before the grass is covered with snow, or it’s too cold to venture outside, check walkways for cracks and loose paver material,” advises Ryan Williams, general manager of 128 Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric. Small repairs today can prevent hazardous slips later.

Chris Granger, vice president and general manager of Sears Home Services, suggests giving siding some attention: “September is a great time to use a pressure washer to clean it up—and inspect for more serious problems before winter comes”.

Additional fall must-dos for Cuyahoga Falls homeowners include:

  • Sealing drafty windows to lower heating costs.
  • Sweeping chimneys before lighting that first fire.
  • Changing HVAC filters to keep systems running efficiently.

These small steps can save on repairs and make homes more comfortable as chilly fall nights settle in. See the Realtor.com September home maintenance checklist for more.
