Vera Muzzillo, the CEO of a Tampa,FL-based company, has been accused by two of her stepchildren of improperly diverting assets from a trust created for their benefit, including the purchase of a $9 million dollar vacation home on Martha's Vineyard.

Greg Muzzillo Jr. and Barbara Muzzillo—two of Proforma founder Gregory Muzzillo Sr.'s five children from a previous marriage—are demanding that Vera hand over control of the family trust and provide a complete accounting of its assets since its creation, according to a complaint filed Jan. 16 in Hillsborough County Circuit Court.

According to the complaint, Gregory Sr. created the trust in 2012 "to provide for the health, maintenance, and wellbeing of Vera and their 10 children," and named Vera, the CEO of promotional products distributor Proforma, the sole trustee.

In addition to the five children Gregory Sr. has from a prior marriage, Vera has three children from a prior marriage, and Gregory Sr. and Vera have two children together.

The complaint claims that Vera allegedly withheld information about the trust from Greg Jr. and Barbara until the couple disclosed their intent to divorce late last year, and that Greg Jr. and Barbara did not even know of the trust's existence until then.

The filing further alleges that, by that point, approximately two-thirds of the trust’s assets had been spent on the 2024 purchase of a $9 million Martha’s Vineyard vacation property located at 52 South Summer St. in Edgartown, MA. That house is now on the market for $9,403,000.

It was listed on Sept. 15, 2025—four days before Vera sought dissolution of her marriage from Gregory Sr. in Hillsborough County Circuit Court, court records indicate.

Listing agent Alyssa Halisky, of Wallace & Co. Sotheby's International Realty in Martha's Vineyard, confirmed to Realtor.com® that the property was still on the market as of Jan. 20.

In the court documents, the plaintiffs are asking "to void [the] transaction and/or remedy breaches of trust regarding the Martha's Vineyard house." The complaint alleges that "Greg Jr. and Barbara were not permitted to visit or use the Martha's Vineyard house" and "Vera therefore failed to reasonably diversity the Trust's assets for the benefit of the beneficiaries."

The complaint also alleges that the Martha's Vineyard house was "purchased primarily for Vera's benefit. Vera failed to inform Plaintiffs of the purchase, they were never invited to visit the Martha's Vineyard House, they did not benefit from it, and once they were aware of the home, Vera told them they were not welcome there."

The complaint claims that Greg Jr. and Barbara are entitled to "an order requiring Vera to pay damages to redress harms suffered by the Trust and its beneficiaries as a result of the purchase or sale of the Martha's Vineyard House, including the amount of any profit lost to the Trust as a result of the purchase or sale of the Martha's Vineyard House."

Greg Jr. and. Barbara's attorney, Bill Schifino of Gunster Law, tells Realtor.com, "As this litigation is pending, we have no comment, nor do our clients."

Vera Muzzillo did not immediately return a request for comment.
