Former NBA star Hassan Whiteside is selling his Miami Beach, FL, mansion for a jaw-dropping $19.5 million.

The 35-year-old, who played for the Miami Heat from 2014 to 2019, averaged a double-double in his first season with the team.

The home was built in 2014 and has clean lines and a modern edge to it with a textured exterior wall pattern, which carries on into the 5,406-square-foot waterfront home.

It’s also not the only property in his portfolio. In 2022, Whiteside snapped up a corner-unit penthouse in The Standard Residences for $1.2 million.

At the time, he was represented by Ryan Kelly with Douglas Elliman, who said he was working with Whiteside on other deals in the South Florida area.

“I haven’t seen anyone like this guy. He’s got some big things in mind for his real estate portfolio,” Kelly said. “I don’t know what his plans for his future in basketball are, but I do know he’s been spending a lot of time and attention on his portfolio here in Miami.”

The property that Whiteside is trying to offload has a floating glass and wood staircase inside. A red spiral staircase connects the floors on the exterior.

The primary suite is one of six bedrooms and has a dressing room and a sleek bathroom with a terrace with a hot tub. There are six other full bathrooms.

An aquarium is in the chef’s kitchen, which is sure to provide plenty of entertainment for guests.

There’s a koi pond outside in the garden entry between the home’s gates and the front door.

In the back of the house, a large pool overlooks the water near a summer kitchen, bar, fire pit, and covered dining area.

An “amenity suite” has a home theater, fitness area, and rooftop entertaining area with “dramatic views,” the listing notes.

The home sits on 0.41 acres on a cul-de-sac with 85 feet of water frontage. There’s a private dock, with boat access to nearby Biscayne Bay and the Intracoastal Waterway under a fixed bridge.

In the 2010 NBA draft, Whiteside was a second-round pick out of Marshall by the Sacramento Kings. He has also suited up for the Miami HeatPortland Trail Blazers, and most recently, the Utah Jazz. He retired in 2024 after playing professionally in Puerto Rico during the 2023 season.

According to property records, the home is owned by a trust with Joseph McLean listed as the trustee. McLean is a well-known wealth manager to professional athletes, including Whiteside, who several years ago handled at least $2 billion in assets for several athletes.

The trust bought this house in 2016 for $7.3 million.

Dina Goldentayer with Douglas Elliman is the listing agent.
