Former Supermodel Kathy Ireland Hikes the Price of Her Luxe Hawaiian Retreat

Upping the price of a slow-to-sell property is an unusual tactic. But model-turned-entrepreneur Kathy Ireland has fared pretty successfully over the years, so we’re fascinated to see what happens with her Honolulu beachfront resort listing.

Trying to land on the perfect price, Ireland first put the island retreat on the market in September of 2022 for $6.9 million, then dropped the ask to $5.9 million in December, then raised it to $6.5 million in March.

Known as Villa Elizabeth, the tropical escape has been a favorite Hawaiian hangout for celebs such as Dame Elizabeth Taylor, Janet Jackson, and George Clooney.

Portraits hanging on the resort’s walls commemorate some of those A-list guests.

It’s also a popular wedding destination, earning high praise on Yelp.

The .31-acre, 6,228-square-foot, beachfront property features suites with spa-inspired bathrooms and clear, ocean views.

Villa Elizabeth is outfitted with luxe amenities, including a spacious gourmet kitchen, shiny koa-wood floors, a formal dining room, a spa and heated swimming pool, and a fire pit.

There’s also a a great room with floor-to-ceiling glass doors that create seamless, indoor-outdoor flow.

And there are several covered entertainment areas, ideal for wedding ceremonies and festivities. The lush, grassy, oceanside lawn and verdant tropical landscaping make for a picturesque backdrop at outdoor events.

Set along the famed, coast-hugging Kalanianaole Highway, the resort is within easy access of many tourist spots— Waikiki, the Ala Moana shopping center, and the Hawaii Kai Towne Center.

Public records indicate Ireland bought the property in 2006 for $4 million, and she’s been adding her designer touches ever since.

She started her modeling career at age 16 in 1979 and appeared on the covers of Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and Sports Illustrated. Her brand, Kathy Ireland Worldwide, is a licensing powerhouse that helped earn her a spot on Forbes list of the richest self-made women in 2015.
