An architectural wonder known as the Tilt-Shift House in Los Angeles has been listed for $2,588,000.

Architect Aaron Neubert came up with the award-winning design for the sleek, all-black home, which was built in 2017. The 2,015-square-foot, trilevel space has four bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Located in the Silver Lake neighborhood, the four-bedroom home is tucked between midcentury modern standouts, the listing notes.

But this one-of-a-kind abode holds its own in an area known for architectural marvels.

“There is a whole soliloquy of architectural significance to this home,” says listing agent Phil Missig, of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services California. “It has received lots of awards over the years.”

The dwelling’s interior embodies a distinctly multichromatic vibe.

“From an aesthetic perspective, the seller changed it from a white box into a much more Pantone-friendly interior,” Missig says, referring to the broadly varied interior palette. “Basically, every room is a very emotional color. That’s what sets it apart. The experience is different than walking into an all-white home. The seller has impeccable taste and amazing style.”

The property last changed hands in 2021 for $2.4 million, according to Realtor.com®.

The Tilt-Shift House is named after the “stacked and shifted volume” of the structure,  according to the listing. It is essentially stacked boxes, arranged so there is outdoor space on every level.

A subterranean garage appears to be built into the compact home’s hillside.

“From an architectural perspective, there are high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling glass throughout, and westerly views that include spectacular sunsets,” Missig says. “A patio and balconies connect with an exterior stairway that is accessed … through the house.”

He says that prospective buyers at a recent open house were particularly drawn to the home’s seclusion.

“The home lives very privately, and the spaces are very generous,” he notes.

The thoughtfully curated open floor plan features skylights and walls of glass that open to let in an abundance of natural light.

A gourmet chef’s kitchen is outfitted with stainless steel appliances and a breakfast bar.

Four bright and airy bedrooms are situated on the third floor.

Missig thinks the next owner will “definitely be a sophisticated buyer”—a couple or a single professional.

“Silver Lake is an architecturally savvy neighborhood,” he says. “It is young and vibrant and [is] looked at as very artsy. Many musicians, actors, and producers live there.”

In addition to enjoying the gorgeous rear patio for entertaining, the next owner could also explore the possibility of adding a rooftop deck, Missig notes.

“The patio in the rear has a kitchen with a sink and half-bath that is ideal for entertaining,” he says. “It’s a very efficient home, and the floor plan makes a lot of sense.”
