Award-winning actor John Malkovich recently sold his Cambridge, MA, property.

Known for his roles in movies such as “Dangerous Liaisons,” “Of Mice and Men,” and “Mulholland Falls,” Malkovich listed his New England abode for $2.9 million in May, and a buyer snapped it up for $3,115,000.

Before this most recent sale, the six-bedroom, six-bath home was last sold in 2006 for $1,585,000.

The eye-catching facade boasts dark-gray siding and warm-wood doors. Set on a residential side street, the home had been used as a single-family dwelling but could be converted back to a two-unit building.

Minutes from Boston

The convenient locale is over the bridge from Boston, a short drive to Huron Village’s shops and restaurants, and a public-transit trip away from Harvard Square. The home underwent extensive renovations in 2003 with a well-known local builder.

The first floor features two bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and an open-plan living and dining room combo. Interior window shutters, a brick fireplace, and wood floors are used throughout the space.
