Academy Award-winning actor Robert Duvall has died at his longtime Virginia estate at the age of 95.

The famed Hollywood A-lister died at his Fauquier County, VA, property on Feb. 15, according to a statement made by his wife, Luciana Duvall.

Luciana, who tied the knot to Duvall in 2005, revealed, "Yesterday we said goodbye to my beloved husband, cherished friend, and one of the greatest actors of our time. Bob passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love and comfort.

"To the world, he was an Academy Award-winning actor, a director, a storyteller. To me, he was simply everything. His passion for his craft was matched only by his deep love for characters, a great meal, and holding court. For each of his many roles, Bob gave everything to his characters and to the truth of the human spirit they represented.

"In doing so, he leaves something lasting and unforgettable to us all. Thank you for the years of support you showed Bob and for giving us this time and privacy to celebrate the memories he leaves behind."

Duvall's historic 360-acre estate, known as Byrnley Farm, is situated in The Plains.

"The Godfather" alum has owned the five-bedroom, eight-bathroom abode for over 30 years.

The property comes complete with a three-story Georgian farmhouse, which was designed by his wife.

It also holds a working cattle farm.

Duvall was considered an active member in the Fauquier County community.

In 2023, the actor attended a Warrenton Town Council meeting, where he argued against the proposed Amazon data center.

Duvall, then 92, read from a piece of paper as he noted that although his prestigious acting career had taken him around the world, he considered Virginia his home.

“I have always returned to Fauquier County, Virginia, for the sense of relief that comes from my appreciation for all that makes this place special,” Duvall explained, as he noted that preserving the community was crucial.

“I urge the Town Council to consider carefully their important decision regarding the precedent-setting [special-use permit] that might open the doors to improperly located data centers and the energy supply infrastructure that is required to power them within the town,” he added.

Hundreds of attendees gave the actor a standing ovation as they walked out of the auditorium with him.
