Baseball Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez has sold his gorgeous, modern mansion in Miami for $5.3 million.

The Red Sox legend’s waterfront home is the picture-perfect place to relax in the sun and motor out to the ocean in mere minutes.

The six-bedroom residence comes with quite a baseball pedigree—it was also previously owned by former big league shortstop Alcides Escobar. Martinez bought the place from his fellow beisbolero for $3 million in August 2019.

And Martinez isn’t leaving town. He’s said to be relocating to another waterfront property in a different part of Miami.

With more than 5,000 square feet and a breezy layout inside, this white-on-white showpiece abounds with Miami glamour in every room. Soaring ceilings offer serious wow factor at the door. And location is key here, in terms of water access and proximity to shops and restaurants.

Boaters will thrill to the 75 feet of water frontage and the direct path to the open seas, without a single bridge to navigate along the way. The home is part of San Souci Estates, a gated community that promises privacy and safety but is still close to the buzzy fun in Miami’s Design District.

The kitchen boasts high-end appliances from Sub Zero and Wolf, plus gleaming counters, an island, and a nearby dining table.

There are two bedrooms on the first level and four more upstairs. The house also has the capacity for an elevator.

A primary bathroom offers lots of storage, double vanities, and a round soaking tub, similar to a Japanese ofuro.

Outside, a heated pool, spacious patio, spa, and barbecue await.

Martinez, who hails from the Dominican Republic, got his start in the big leagues with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1988. Among the many accolades in his storied career are a World Series win in 2004 with the Boston Red Sox and three Cy Young Awards.

After Martinez retired, he continued his partnership with Boston by working as a special assistant to the team’s general manager. He also does some color commentary as an analyst for various baseball sportscasts. The Hall of Famer works for national baseball broadcasts on TBS.

Morgan Blittner and Lance Butnick, of Brown Harris Stevens Miami, represented the buyers and orchestrated the sale.
