Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco Are Engaged—but Which of Her Stunning Mansions Will They Choose To Live In?
It’s official: Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are engaged, 18 months after they began dating.
Gomez, 32, announced the news of her betrothal in a sweet Instagram post, sharing a series of images of herself flaunting an enormous diamond ring, while sobbing with joy as she embraces her new fiancé.
She captioned the post: “Forever begins now.”
One of the images showed the singer sitting atop a picnic blanket with a delicious-looking spread of Taco Bell dishes around her, suggesting that Blanco, 36, may have popped the question in the sweet setting.
Gomez and Blanco’s relationship milestone was met with elation from her celebrity pals, with Taylor Swift even offering herself up as a potential bridal party member, commenting: “Yes I will be the flower girl.”
Meanwhile “Friends” actress Jennifer Aniston wrote: “HONEY!! Congratulations sweet mama!” and Cardi B chimed in: “Waiiiitttt hold on.”
Gomez and Blanco, who is a successful record producer, began dating in 2023, although they had previously collaborated together on a number of music projects before their relationship blossomed into a romance.
Since the duo began dating, former Disney star Gomez has also seen her professional life flourish, earning herself the ultra elite billionaire status this fall, an achievement that was prompted largely by the success of her Rare Beauty brand, which is now valued at $2 billion.
She’s also reaching new heights on social media, becoming the most-followed woman on Instagram, where she has amassed a legion of 423 million fans.
Now that they’ve “put a ring on it,” the couple needs to decide which of their many mansions will become their marital home.
Take a look at their opulent options.
Encino estate
In 2020, the singer purchased fellow musician’s Tom Petty’s former SoCal estate for $4.9 million.
The 9,000-square-foot property was custom-built in 1989. Petty, who died in 2017, moved out after his divorce in 1996. But his spirit lingers in the recording studio and a sunken performance space—cool elements Gomez likely appreciated when she made the big buy.
The five-bedroom mansion with soaring ceilings and a gourmet kitchen features a rockin’ lower level that includes a wine cellar, gym, massage room, creative work area, kitchen, vocal booth, den, and guest suite.
Woodland Hills hideaway
Another option for the lovebirds is this darling spot that Gomez picked up in 2017 for $1.8 million. Built in 1949, the charmer is private, gated, and set on a half-acre.
The four-bedroom, four-bath, 3,500-square-foot property offers details like hardwood floors, a wood-burning fireplace in the living room, and lots of natural light. The modern kitchen is outfitted with Wolf appliances and quartz counters, while the family room has a home theater, wood-beamed ceilings, and built-ins.
The lovely primary retreat comes with a large walk-in closet, fireplace, and a spa-inspired bath with a rainfall shower and a jetted tub.
The outdoor space is also enticing, with a pool, fire pit, and an outdoor kitchen.
Gomez has also owned many other homes. She spent the COVID-19 pandemic hunkered down in a cute four-bedroom abode in Studio City, CA that she picked up in 2017 for $2.24 million. Then, in August 2020, she unloaded it for a small profit, selling it for $2,368,000.
She also had a brief stint in the celebrity enclave of Calabasas, CA, buying up a place in 2014 for $3.7 million that ended up back on the market in 2015 for $4,495,000.
Although the custom estate came with 3 acres and included amenities such as a guesthouse, large courtyard, theater, and a gym, it lacked privacy and had problems with intruders. Gomez sold it for $3.3 million in 2016.
In 2011, while still a teen, Gomez’s parents, through a trust, reportedly picked up a San Fernando Valley home, where the young star lived for a time. It came on the market for $3.49 million in 2014 and sold for $3.45 million.
The “Spring Breakers” star also briefly owned a home in Fort Worth, TX. She picked up a sprawling spread in 2015 as a spot to stay while she visited family, but she didn’t hang on to it long. She placed the 10,000-square-foot property on the market in 2018 for $3 million, knocking it down to $2.7 million a few months later, when it finally sold.
More recently, the “Only Murders in the Building” star rented a New York City apartment on the Upper East Side while she was filming for the Hulu series that co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short.
New York City apartment
Blanco, a songwriter and author who has worked with top talents like Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, and Ed Sheeran, has been trying to offload his New York City apartment.
The chart-topping songwriter Blanco, whose given name is Benjamin Joseph Levin, purchased the three-bedroom loft in 2011 for $3,445,000.
He first listed the Chelsea home in May for $3,995,000 but, with no takers, has since dropped the price to $3,750,000.
The fully renovated condo boasts a prime corner location, 11-foot ceilings, and southeast-facing windows. The compact kitchen opens to the main living space and has a breakfast bar.
Building amenities include 24/7 door attendants, concierge service, and access to a gym, roof deck, and children’s playroom.
