In an area known for its natural wonders, one property might actually make you feel like you’ve been transported to another world.

This alien-themed compound, made up of three vacation-rental properties in Hurricane, UT, is listed for $1,690,000.

The far-out listing first hit the market in July, and the price recently dropped by $200,000 to the current ask.

“I bought it and had a vision for it and what it could become,” says owner and listing agent Kendall Clements, with Escape Properties. “My brother is a builder, and he and I would meet up for lunch and draw pictures on napkins of what we thought would be a cool vacation home.”

The result is three separate rentals. They’re all various sizes but share an Area 51-theme. And somehow, there’s something for everyone here.

“What parent doesn’t want to see their kid have a great vacation?” Clement asks rhetorically. “That’s one of the purposes of going on vacation is to create memories with them. That’s what the focus is, the family concept.”

The property’s original cabin was built in 1985 and has three bedrooms, one bathroom, and a full kitchen. And it’s now part of the space theme, too.

“In the cabin, I’ve got the entire history of the space race of 1948 through 1969,” Clements notes. “I was born July 20, 1969, which is the day that Neil Armstrong landed on the moon, so that’s kind of my connection to space.”

A studio unit is a combined sleeping and living space, with a retro vibe harking to the days of the moon landings.

Dubbed Hangar 18, the large steel building comes with lots of surprises inside, including a huge spaceship.

“I marvel at the spaceship, because it’s 100% custom built,” Clements says. “It’s right there by the front door, and you can’t help but be in awe of it when you walk into it and sit down.”

The spaceship even includes a flight simulator and what are labeled “ventilation tubes,” which are actually fun slides that wind their way through the structure. And best of all, they’re built to fit kids and adults.

Slide and test-tube aliens

A bunk room is set up for even more imaginative play, with the sleep spaces decorated as futuristic, cryogenic pods. And even the pretend aliens in giant test tubes sitting nearby have a special story behind them.

“The two aliens in the cryogenic tubes, that’s a nod to my brother and me,” Clements explains. “I am the youngest of seven sons, and he’s the fifth of seven sons, and so the aliens are numbered seven of seven and five and seven. So that represents my brother and me as aliens,” he says with a laugh.

Bring your ‘sense of adventure’

The three-unit compound sleeps a total of 23. And better yet, everything in the out-of-this-world property conveys with the sale.

“Everything is there,” Clements says. “Just bring your suitcase and your sense of adventure.”

The three units can rent separately or together for a total of $1,200 to $1,600 per night.

Pool

Outside, the connected saltwater pool and hot tub offer another opportunity to relax.

“We call it a microresort,” Clements says. “It’s not like it’s a crowded resort with 80 units sharing one pool. There are three units sharing one pool.”

The roughly third-acre property is very close to Zion National Park and is about 70 miles from the Grand Canyon.

“It’s kind of a central point for people who want to come and visit the national parks,” Clements says, noting that the perfect buyer “is probably someone who wants to come spend some of their time there and knows it is rentable.”
