A 180-year-old Cobble Hill townhouse that was recently reimagined by a renowned atelier has hit the market for $14.3 million—having undergone the kind of jaw-dropping transformation that will redefine its future.

The stunning 6,271-square-foot residence is the first release in ESTABLISHED BY ECKSTRØM, a collection of five modern residences reimagining 19th-century architecture across Brooklyn and the West Village.

Husband and wife Carlos Saavedra and Nicole Eckstrom make up the team behind ECKSTRØM, which has taken the luxury townhouse market by storm.

The developer thoughtfully preserves historic homes while integrating contemporary design, wellness features, and passive principles focused on comfort and efficiency—transforming them into high-end residences.

"This property was finished just a week or two ago after a two-year process," says Marta Maletz, who is co-listing the property with Carl Gambino of Compass. "Everything in the house is custom from the top-of-the-line insulation to the ERV system that circulates air."

Designed for entertaining, the modern five-bedroom estate was originally built between 1844–1845 by Jacob Frost and now boasts multiple gathering areas.

During the meticulous renovation, the designers worked to ensure that the property retained its traditional charm—and its classic townhouse structure.

"The house retains the hierarchy that defines classic townhouse living, while introducing a more open, connected layout," the listing states. "The parlor level is centered around entertaining, with generous ceiling heights and a natural flow between living and dining.

"Below, the kitchen opens directly to the private garden, creating a more informal setting for the quiet rituals of daily life."

"It has almost 6,300 square feet of space," Maletz adds. "It's the type of space that was built for a primary residence."

Designer details throughout the residence include custom millwork, flat-sawn white oak floors, limewashed walls, and a combination of marble, walnut, and quartzite countertops. Interiors have been staged by Jason Saft.

The redesign of the home saw every square inch of space being utilized, including the basement, which was expanded in order to accomodate an impressive wellness facility—and additional entertaining spaces.

"This property was built in conjunction with [interior design firm] General Assembly," Maletz adds. "They dug down in the basement and turned it into a wellness retreat with gym, cold plunge, sauna room, and family screening room."

The original front entry remains intact, while the interiors have been reconceived for modern-day living while also incorporating passive design principles for energy efficiency.

"There is beautiful light that comes through the kitchen with its double-height ceilings," Maletz says. "It also has a dumbwaiter for entertaining."

"There are many, many living areas built for entertaining," she adds. "It has two outdoor kitchens: one on the roof and one on the garden floor."

The five-story residence boasts a cozy living room with a fireplace, a gourmet chef's kitchen with bespoke cabinetry and private-garden access, and a sculptural staircase with mahogany railing that leads up to the sleeping quarters.

"Cobble Hill is a premier area for people moving from Manhattan," she adds. "It has close proximity to private schools, so it would be ideal for a family with kids."
