TikTok Star Tabitha Swatosh Finally Finds House in Nashville After Being Left Homeless When ‘Dream’ Property Was Sold Without Her Knowledge
TikTok star Tabitha Swatosh has joyfully announced that she found a new house—just days after tearfully revealing that she’d been left homeless when her “dream” property was sold out from under her in a relocation nightmare.
Swatosh, a former Hype House member, 24, had previously announced that she would be moving from Los Angeles to Nashville, TN. She soon began documenting her relocation journey in a series of videos, from viewing properties to packing up her belongings.
However, her dream of moving to a new city and into her perfect new pad turned into a real-life horror when she discovered that the dwelling she had agreed to rent in Nashville had been sold—just days before she was meant to move in.
The influencer broke down in tears as she detailed her horrifying real estate experience, revealing to her followers that she was given the news after all of her belongings had been packed into moving trucks that were preparing to make the lengthy drive from California to Tennessee.
“I found a house last week that I liked last week in Nashville. It’s nice because it’s not very far from my friends,” she revealed in the Dec. 18 clip. “My [real estate agent] and I went to go look at this house, I put my deposit down on my dream house.
“Today, I am supposed to pack and move across the country. And 30 minutes ago, my real estate agent called me, because he said he had bad news. … They sold the house we’re supposed to move into. How is that even possible?
“I’m actually so confused. They have my deposit, and in writing. And now my movers are here with nowhere to go. I have nowhere to go.”
She later confirmed to her followers that she was going ahead with her move and would work with her real estate agent to find a backup property. That mission was finally completed on Dec. 20.
Sharing a video of herself on a call with the agent, Swatosh broke down again—this time with tears of joy—when he revealed that he’d managed to secure her another abode.
While it wasn’t her first choice, he said, it is going to be the ideal home for her.
“All right, Tabitha. Again, I can’t believe what happened the other day,” he began the call. “In all my years in the business, it’s totally unprecedented that you lost that house because of what those owners did at the last minute. It totally doesn’t happen.
“I’m really sorry. I know you were looking forward to it. But I’ve got some good news. The other place we were looking at, which is a great house, you loved it. I talked to the owners, and they’re going to rent it to you.
“I think it’s going to be a great fit. It might not be perfect, it might not be everything you want, but it’s a gorgeous house. It’s going to fit you great, I really think for what you’re looking for, it might even be a better fit for you.”
The TikTok star, overjoyed by the news and choking back tears, simply said, “Are you kidding?”
Swatosh later explained that she was not able to move into the home by Christmas, saying that she would be spending the holiday with friends in the area instead. She did expect to be moved into the property by Dec. 30.
But her move will come with one more hurdle: The moving trucks carrying her belongings have not yet arrived in Nashville. The movers delayed the delivery of her items when her original rental plans fell through.
“So tomorrow I’m supposed to move into my new house, but the downside is, my movers haven’t left Los Angeles yet because they weren’t sure if I was even going to have a house,” she revealed. “I’m supposed to move in in less than 24 hours and I have none of my necessities.”
Thankfully for the online star, she was offered temporary accommodations by her close friends and fellow influencers, Alex Warren and Kouvr Annon, with whom she had been living in California.
The group, who all met while part of a social media collective known as The Hype House, had been sharing a rented property in Tarzana, CA. They decided to end their lease in December after Warren and Annon tied the knot and decided to move to Nashville.
Swatosh shared videos of herself spending Christmas Eve with her former roommates, documenting herself shopping, wrapping gifts, helping to decorate the tree, and enjoying an evening party with the couple and some friends.
