The first trailer of filmmaker Nathan Fielder's documentary about Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes has dropped—and it provides an intimate look at her San Diego home.

The A24-produced documentary, "You Can See Everything," follows Fielder, 43, as he moves into Holmes' home with her family in the 34 days before she reported to the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, TX, on May 30, 2023.

The mother of two was sentenced to 11 years in federal prison for three counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, of which she was found guilty in January 2022. Her time was reduced to nine years for good behavior.

Since then, she has been approved for placement in a community correction center, ABC News reported, citing an update from the Department of Justice's Victim Notification System. The outlet said she was scheduled to be placed in the Austin Transitional Center in De Valle, TX in August 2027.

In the film trailer, Fielder is seen moving into the San Diego rental Holmes resided in with her partner, Billy Evans, 33, and their children William, now 5, and Invicta, now 3.

“I know you guys invited me to stay here. Does any part of you worry about me being here 24/7?” Fielder asks. “What if I see something that makes you look bad?”

“This is the moment in time to capture this story before I’m gone,” Holmes explains.

The trailer features a variety of scenes from the Holmes-Evans household: a dimly lit bedroom, a spaceship-themed children's room overflowing with toys, a lived-in kitchen with a windowsill filled with pebbles, and, of course, the wood-paneled bedroom Fielder stays in for just over a month.

Although it’s unclear exactly how long the family stayed in the home, or precisely where it was located, the New York Times reported that Holmes and Evans relocated to San Diego to be closer to his family.

Evans’ parents—William L. Evans and Susan Evans—are the hotel magnates behind the Evans Hotel Group, a family-owned San Diego-based hospitality company that’s been operating since 1953.

Their properties include the Bahia Resort Hotel on Mission Bay, Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa in Pacific Beach, and the Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla.

At one point in the trailer, Fielder poses a question to Evans: “Weren’t you worried she was sort of scamming you?”

Evans admits it was “100% a concern,” but was unsure what Holmes had “to gain” from him.

Fielder then points out that Evans comes from a “rich” family, to which the hotel heir replies, “I think that there’s a lot of different levels of wealth.”

Holmes’ story has been chronicled extensively over time, with countless features and projects detailing her catastrophic rise and fall, including the 2019 documentary “The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley” and Hulu’s Emmy-winning 2022 limited series, “The Dropout,” in which Holmes was portrayed by Amanda Seyfried.

Still, “You Can See Everything” promises to deliver something new, with the movie’s official synopsis stating, “What begins as an intimate portrait of an enigmatic felon becomes a mind-bending three-year journey into the abyss.”

Early reviews of the film, which will make its theatrical debut on Oct. 16, tease a shocking twist.

Holmes was initially celebrated in Silicon Valley for founding Theranos, a healthcare tech company that developed a diagnostic test that could allegedly use a small sample of blood to screen for hundreds of diseases.

In 2014, with a net worth of $4.5 billion, Holmes was named the “world’s youngest self-made woman millionaire” by Forbes.

At the height of her affluence, Holmes snapped up a $9 million French provincial manor in Silicon Valley’s wealthy Atherton enclave.

Eventually, Theranos—which was valued at $9 billion—crumbled with the massive fraud scandal after its claims were revealed in a 2015 Wall Street Journal exposé.

Forbes updated its reported Holmes net worth to just $0 in 2016, and Theranos would continue to struggle for two more years before Holmes and the company’s former president, Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani, would be indicted on federal charges in 2018.

A series of obstacles would continue to delay Holmes’ criminal trial—including the COVID-19 pandemic and her first pregnancy. Holmes gave birth to her first child in July 2021, and her trial began soon after.

While on trial—from Aug. 31, 2021, to Jan. 3, 2022—Holmes rented one of the seven homes of San Francisco’s notable Green Gables, a sprawling 74-acre property that was owned by the Fleishhacker family for more than a century before its record-breaking $85 million sale in 2025.

In June 2026, Forbes reported that Evans and the couple’s children relocated from California to Texas so they can regularly visit Holmes in prison.

“It’s been hell and torture to be here,” Holmes, who pleaded not guilty, said in a People magazine interview—her first from prison.

She is scheduled to be released on Feb. 22, 2030.
