EXCLUSIVE: NBA Coach Tiago Splitter Lists His Portland Home for $3.5 Million—2 Months After Move to Chicago Bulls

Newly-appointed Chicago Bulls head coach Tiago Splitter has put his Oregon home on the market for $3.5 million—less than two months after he announced that he would be stepping down as interim coach for local team, the Portland Trail Blazers, to pursue a new role with the famed Illinois side.

Splitter, 41, has only owned the Lake Oswego property for a year—having purchased it for $3.3 million in August 2025, two months after the Trail Blazers hired him as their assistant coach. However, he was quickly promoted to the role of interim head coach when his predecessor, Chauncey Billups, was arrested over claims he was involved in an illegal poker scheme.

Many had thought that the former San Antonio Spurs player would be assigned to that position permanently ahead of the start of the 2026/27 NBA season—until June 15, when reports began to emerge that Splitter was set to sign a new contract with Michael Jordan's former team, one day before that deal was sealed.

Now, Splitter, who is originally from Santa Catarina, Brazil, but moved to the U.S. to join the NBA in 2010, is severing his final tie with Portland, listing his "exceptional" contemporary Lake Oswego farmhouse with Terry Sprague of Luxe | Forbes Global Properties.

In its listing, the five-bedroom, 6.5-bathroom dwelling—which spans just over 5,700 square feet—is described as offering "seamless indoor-outdoor living," with a "disappearing wall of glass" that opens up the main living area to the exterior.

Set on a 0.69-acre parcel, the property features several resort-style amenities on its grounds, including a large pool with an integrated spa, a poolside lounge, and a club room.

Inside, the property unfolds through a series of brightly-lit spaces, beginning with a beautiful entryway that then flows into the open-plan living and kitchen area.

The kitchen features top-of-the-line appliances, as well as an enormous center island that serves as the perfect spot for casual dining. A separate pantry—complete with a large refrigerator—offers ample storage, in addition to the many built-ins found in the kitchen.

For more upscale occasions, the formal dining room provides an elegant space for meals, while a private office and "dramatic wine gallery" make up the remaining living spaces on the first floor.

French oak floors can be found throughout the dwelling, which offers five ensuite bedrooms, including an opulent primary suite with a huge wall of windows that open up directly to the outdoors. The primary bathroom features a huge walk-in shower, as well as a separate soaking tub and dual sinks.

There is also an "expansive" upper level with multiple living spaces, including an area currently being used as a playroom and a room that appears to serve as a private gym.

While there does not currently appear to be an elevator in the home, the listing notes that the property is "ready" to have one fitted.

The property is also located just a 16-minute drive from the Portland Trail Blazer's home court at the Moda Center—and just a few minutes' walk from the nearby Lake Oswego High School and the Oswego Lake Country Club.

The NBA coach and his wife, who wed in 2017, purchased the property in August 2025, just two months before Splitter stepped up to fill Billups' spot leading the team—however, he hinted in April of this year that his future with the Trail Blazers was not fully cemented.

Speaking to Oregon Live, Splitter called attention to the fact that his family had laid down permanent roots in the Portland suburb, because they thought that his role with the team would be a "long-term thing," but conceded that his situation had "shifted pretty quick" as a result of Billups' arrest.

"I bought a house. We thought this would be a long-term thing," he said. "Of course, everything shifted pretty quick with the Chauncey stuff. But we’re still thinking that this is our place."

However, by May, reports were emerging that suggested Splitter's days with the Trail Blazers were numbered, with Sports Illustrated noting that the Portland team's decision to prolong its search for a head coach "make it seem like" he would "not be returning" to the squad for the 2026/27 season.

At the time, it was reported that the Trail Blazers were considering five candidates in addition to Splitter, including Utah Jazz assistant coach Mike Williams and Boston Celtics assistant Tyler Lashbrook. On June 23, it was announced that the team had chosen Micah Nori, former assistant coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves, to fill the role.

It's currently unclear whether Splitter has already invested in a new property in the Chicago area, or whether he and his family plan to rent while they get used to their new hometown.

However, he has quickly thrown himself into his new role, appearing on the sidelines of several NBA Summer League games in July, when he was seen rooting for the Bulls with vigor.

In his first press conference after accepting the position, Splitter voiced his excitement to be joining a team with so much potential, although he noted that there was "a lot of work to be done" in order to get the Bulls to the position they "deserve."

"We see what we have in our hands and what we can do and how we can get this franchise to be in the spot it deserves. We want to create a culture of high standards, great habits," he said, according to Sports Illustrated.

"Every day, get better, grow. It’s going to be a lot of work, take some time. I know what it takes, and I know the responsibility that I have and the expectations that come with being the head coach of the Chicago Bulls.

"So, I’m ready, and I can’t wait to start and work, and be more and more involved with this community."
