"Everything in the home is high-end and has a European feel to it with all of the wood," said listing agent Thom Milke of Fountains Land Inc. "If it were built today, it would cost at least $3 million. It has cherry wood floors, two wells, and two furnaces, and is incredibly private. No one has built a house quite like it."

Built in 2008, the private sanctuary is surrounded by forest "on all sides."

"It's hidden from everything but is just a few minutes away from some of the best skiing in Vermont," Milke noted. "The area has a lot of secondary homes, but it would be a great home for someone to use full-time."

A cozy living room with coffered ceilings has a stone fireplace and direct access to the outdoor space.

"I would love to see it go to a family who would keep it for generations," he added.

Oversized windows overlook stone patios.

"On mornings when fog fills the valley below, the house's elevated location gives the sensation of floating above the world on a cloud," the listing states.

The private retreat, sitting on two contiguous parcels "with development potential on the 89-acre Killington parcel," also has a three-car garage.

"People today have conservation in mind," Milke said. "There is a lot of untouched forest land, so I wouldn't be surprised if the next buyer didn't want to develop it but wanted to keep it preserved."
