Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg List Illinois Home for $2.8 Million—After Hinting at California Move

Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg are moving on from their longtime Illinois residence, listing the sprawling St. Charles property for $2.799 million.

The singer, 57, and the actress, 53, have owned the residence for more than a decade, having purchased it for $1.1 million in 2015.

Built in 1996, the four-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom home spans 7,236 square feet and sits on 1.26 acres.

Described as "an extraordinary St. Charles estate," the property underwent extensive renovations during Wahlberg and McCarthy's time there, with the couple transforming it into a personalized retreat designed for both entertaining and relaxing.

Inside, the home boasts an expansive living room and family room, a separate formal dining room, den, game room, recreation space, exercise room, and a finished lower level.

The kitchen comes complete with an island, breakfast bar, walk-in pantry, and butler's pantry, while hardwood and stone flooring can be found throughout much of the main level.

Adding to the home's cozy appeal are six fireplaces, which are spread throughout spaces including the living room, family room, primary bedroom, and basement.

The primary suite serves as its own private retreat and features an en suite bathroom with a soaking tub, double sinks, and a full-body spray shower.

However, some of the property's most impressive amenities can be found in its entertainment and wellness spaces.

The lower level features a bar and recreation areas, while the home also comes equipped with an exercise room and sauna.

"The reimagined English basement offers an entire recreation level with a home theater, sauna, cold plunge, bar, and generous gathering spaces," the listing reads.

Outside, the couple created a resort-style setup complete with a swimming pool, waterslide, waterfall, spa, putting green, expansive patios, and lush landscaping.

Wahlberg and McCarthy also put their own stamp on the property through a number of highly personalized additions made during their renovations, including door handles shaped like their initials and a custom poker table bearing their names.

The property also holds plenty of sentimental value for the pair. In 2019, they revealed that it was the very first home they toured together while searching for a place where they could embrace the small-town lifestyle they envisioned.

Their decision to sell comes after Wahlberg revealed in late 2025 that he and McCarthy had discussed the possibility of relocating to California in order to be closer to his adult sons, Xavier and Elijah, whom he shares with ex-wife Kim Fey.

At the time, Wahlberg explained that his sons were among the few things that could tempt him back to the West Coast, noting that one of them had repeatedly encouraged him to move closer.

“I have a 24-year-old son and I can’t tell you how many times he’s asked me in the last year to move back to California to be close to him. Probably the only thing that could ever get me back to California is my two sons. And if they keep asking, Jenny and I are going to start going on realtor.com and figuring things out," he told People in 2025.

It is not yet clear where Wahlberg and McCarthy plan to settle after selling their Illinois residence.

The couple have called the St. Charles property home for more than a decade, having purchased it one year after tying the knot in 2014.
