Modernist architect Jules Gregory's distinctive Wave House and accompanying original Studio have just splashed onto the market in West Amwell, NJ for a cool $2.6 million.

Known for its one-of-a-kind wavy roofline, this signature Gregory-designed estate features a stunning midcentury-inspired interior.

"The way the roof curves up and down, being compressed and opening up in areas, is one of the most impressive features," says Grant Wagner, who is co-listing the property with David Schure of Callaway Henderson Sotheby's International Realty. "It also offers a nice connection with nature with its stone and wood details."

Found throughout the 1,700-square-foot primary residence are curvy wood ceilings rising and dipping above rooms, oversized windows, glass walls and doors, and exposed beams.

"I think the next buyer will be someone who wants to collect the Wave House and likely hold onto it for a long time, or is someone looking for a weekend getaway," says Wagner. "It's like owning a piece of art that is very accessible."

The sinuous four-bedroom Wave House, with ceilings appearing to float above the living space, features an open floor plan with a sunken conversation lounge, a beamed living room, a European-inspired kitchen overlooking the stunning outdoor gardens, and a bright and airy primary retreat.

"The current owners, both architects, have spent nearly $1.25 million in renovations and architecturally sensitive improvements since they bought it in 2015," he adds. "They lived in the studio as their primary residence and rented out the Wave House."

The detached two-bedroom studio was completely redone in 2019.

"The two structures have two completely different wells and are nicely separated from each other, if you wanted to use the property for multigenerational living," Wagner notes. "It is very private and secluded, yet the lot is pretty open and has lots of great sunlight."

Located on 10.03 acres with a bluestone patio and a two-car carport, the expansive property is also near the 70-mile Delaware & Raritan Canal State Park Trail for hiking and biking.

"West Amwell is near the river towns and not too far from Philadelphia, yet offers better prices than Bucks County," he adds. "You have a nice sense of seclusion without being in a property like one in upstate New York, where everything is 30 minutes away. It's a once-in-a-generation opportunity and a truly remarkable product."
