Justin Trudeau Wants Katy Perry To ‘Live Part of the Year’ at His $3.1 Million Canada Home With Their ‘Blended Family’

Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is reportedly taking a big step in his romance with singer Katy Perry after sources claimed that he is hoping the chart-topper will move into his new $3.1 million Montreal home for at least "part" of the year.

It was first reported in February that Trudeau, 54, had closed on a nearly century-old stone dwelling in the Outremont neighborhood, having secured a mortgage for the seven-bedroom abode through the Bank of Montreal.

The upscale dwelling, which is located just a short distance from the home Trudeau shared with his former wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, features its own ballroom and offers more than enough space for the former politician—as well as Perry and her daughter, Daisy, who she shares with her ex, Orlando Bloom, 49.

In fact, sources have claimed to Us Weekly that Trudeau actually purchased the dwelling with Perry, 41, in mind, in the hopes that she will agree to spend a good amount of time there, albeit while maintaining her own primary residence in California, where her daughter attends school.

“Justin is showing Katy his new home, where he wants her to live part of the year with him,” an insider told the outlet.

The property, which was first listed by broker Joseph Montanaro for $3.3 million in 2025, sprawls across 4,965 square feet and is situated on a 13,672-square-foot lot.

The north side of the dwelling comes complete with a driveway and gated pathway, while the south side features a two-car garage and a stone staircase.

It is entirely hidden by a metal fence, mature trees, and several shrubs—making it the perfect romantic hideaway for Trudeau and Perry, 41, who began dating in July 2025.

“It’s large enough for a blended family, and in a prestigious neighborhood where he used to live," the source added.

But while Perry may well end up spending much more time in Canada, the insider noted that she has no plans to relocate there permanently, having established a solid coparenting schedule with Bloom in Montecito, where they were living together before their July 2025 split.

“Orlando and Katy have a good rhythm with coparenting, so that’s where Katy spends the majority of her time unless she is traveling on tour,” the insider continued.

Luckily, a second source said that Perry and Trudeau are happily "navigating a long-distance relationship," which they insisted "hasn't been an issue" for the couple.

The insider added, "They’ve found a rhythm that works and make a point to see each other as often as possible.”

Perry is understood to have moved into a sprawling Montecito mansion that she and Bloom were in the process of renovating before their split—and which features an array of amenities designed for their daughter, including a charming playground in the backyard.

The dwelling is also located just a short distance from another Santa Barbara dwelling that the duo had previously shared, which they are understood to have been renting to fellow A-listers Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger in recent months.

"Firework" singer Perry may well be able to offer some renovation tips to her new beau, who is reportedly in the process of overhauling his new abode, according to Reality Tea, which stated previously that contractors had been present at the property.

Trudeau purchased the home from Nicolas Ruggieri, who is the leader of the real estate section at Batipart Invest, and had bought the dwelling in 2023 for $3.9 million.

However, living at such a prestigious home will not come cheap for the former prime minister, with estimates suggesting that he will have to pay $28,000 in annual taxes alone.

Trudeau left his position as prime minister in March 2025 after a decade in office.

During his last year in office, he earned $299,000. Next year, he will receive an annual pension of $192,537. When he turns 67, he will also earn an additional retirement allowance.

The "Firework" hitmaker and Trudeau confirmed their relationship in October, when they stepped out hand in hand at a cabaret show in Paris, where they had been celebrating Perry's birthday.

Images taken of the couple show them both beaming from ear to ear, with Perry looking every inch the chart-topping icon in a figure-hugging red dress, while Trudeau donned an all-black suit.

That appearance came just a few months after Perry and Bloom, 49, officially called it quits after nine years together.

Bloom, who shares daughter Daisy with Perry, later broke his silence on their separation, telling "Today" host Craig Melvin during a September interview that everything between them is "great."

"I'm great, man. I'm so grateful," he said when asked how he was holding up in the wake of the "personal changes" in his life.

"We have the most beautiful daughter. You know when you leave everything on the field like I did in this movie? I feel grateful for all of it."

His comments came after insiders shared some insight into Perry and Bloom's plans for co-parenting their 5-year-old daughter, claiming that the former couple are aiming to remain completely "amicable" for the sake of their child.

"Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable," a source previously told Us Weekly. "It’s not contentious at the moment. Katy is, of course, upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life."

"They are still very much in touch and co-parenting Daisy together," a second insider added, noting that Bloom and Perry are both planning to continue residing in Montecito, CA, in a bid to ensure that Daisy's life is as unaffected by their split as possible.

"They aren’t making drastic changes for Daisy’s sake. They will keep their lives in Montecito. They are prioritizing stability and consistency for Daisy," the unnamed source added.

Trudeau, who split from his wife, Sophie, in August 2023, shares three children with his estranged spouse, all of whom are currently said to be living with their mother in Montreal.

In the wake of the Trudeaus' split, it was reported that the children would reside with their mom—but that their father would see them regularly, with a spokesperson for the former prime minister saying: "Both parents will be a constant presence in their children’s lives and Canadians can expect to often see the family together."
