‘The Perfect Couple’ on Netflix Serves Up Nicole Kidman, Murder, and Breathtaking Beachfront Real Estate

Fans of Elin Hilderbrand‘s best-selling novel have been waiting years for this—a chance to ogle the beachfront estate that’s the centerpiece of one of her most-loved reads, “The Perfect Couple,” which revolves around the death of a bridesmaid just before the wedding of the year on Nantucket.

At last, her 2018 novel has been made into a star-studded television show premiering on Netflix Sept. 5, with Nicole Kidman in the lead role. The Oscar-winner plays the groom’s mother, while the talented Liev Schreiber plays her husband. Dakota Fanning and Meghann Fahy round out the cast.

The setting of ritzy Nantucket—the preferred summer island home of many billionaires—is almost a character itself, with luxurious beach homes and stunning coastal views providing the perfect backdrop to the story’s drama and intrigue.

With 27 linear miles of coastline, a variety of beaches, and access to Nantucket Sound, Chatham is a hidden gem.

“The vibrant village has lots of history and a great blend of restaurants and shops—and when driving around town, you can easily recognize how much pride people take in their properties,” says Jack Bohman, a real estate agent in Chatham with Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty.

Bohman says the crew even converted a Chatham storefront to be used as the Nantucket police station in the show.

“Now it’s a really cool oyster bar call Elwood’s,” he says.
