Texas-born actress Eva Longoria is giving fans a peek at her life in Spain—three months after she ditched the U.S. and relocated abroad.

In November, Longoria joined the growing list of celebrities who decided to bid adieu to life in the U.S. when Donald Trump regained his office in the White House.

The 49-year-old was born in Corpus Christi, but lived her “whole adult life” in Los Angeles, having moved to California in her 20s to pursue a career in acting.

When Trump won the 2024 presidential election, the “Crazy Kind of Love” actress declared that she was “done” with life in “dystopian” America and was officially going to be based full time in Spain and Mexico.

At the time, the Hollywood star told Marie Claire that she’d “escaped” the country where she had lived for nearly five decades and will now reside full time with her husband, José Bastón, and their son, Santiago, 6, in their properties in Central America and Europe.

Now, three months after she turned her back on the U.S., Longoria has opened the doors to her life abroad, giving fans a glimpse inside her Spanish property in CNN’s new series “Eva Longoria: Searching for Spain.”

The eight-part series will follow the “Desperate Housewives” alum through the birthplace of her ancestors as she experiences all the jaw-dropping views and mouth-watering meals Spain has to offer.

“Eleven generations ago, one of my ancestors left Spain for The New World and a new life. 400 years later, I’m back to see how the land and its people have created one of the world’s most exciting cuisines,” she said in the trailer for the series, which premieres on April 27.

In the teaser, the actress munches on a slew of delicious bites before heading to the town of Longoria and meeting her long-lost family members.

“If you can preserve your food and your recipes, then you can teach the rest of the world who you are,” she said.

Longoria will showcase parts of her sprawling mansion in the series as she hosts her loved ones for delicious meals.

At the time of her move, Longoria conceded that she was very “privileged” in her ability to move away from the country where she was born and raised, and where she launched her successful acting career.

“I’m privileged. I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren’t so lucky,” she said. “They are going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and my sadness is for them.”

Speaking about Trump, she noted that it was “not shocking that he won.”

“It’s that a convicted criminal who spews so much hate could hold the highest office,” she explained.

The actress noted that the conditions in her former home state of California were largely to blame for her decision to leave the U.S. before the election.

While insisting that she doesn’t want to “s–t” on the region, she said she found certain aspects of it difficult to bear.

“I had my whole adult life here. But even before [the COVID-19 pandemic], it was changing, the vibe was different. And then COVID happened, and it pushed it over the edge,” she went on. “Whether it’s the homelessness or the taxes, not that I want to s–t on California—it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now.”

Longoria’s official exodus from the U.S. appears to have begun in earnest in 2023, when she put her sprawling Beverly Hills mansion on the market for $22.88 million—later slashing the price to $18.98 million in May 2024.

She and her husband paid $13.5 million for the chic 1.4-acre property in 2017. They reportedly spent an untold amount on an exquisite renovation.

The 10,652-square-foot Spanish contemporary mansion was built in 1996 on a deep lot with a long, gated driveway. It’s equipped with a state-of-the-art security system.

Longoria and Bastón added many colorful touches when they remodeled. For starters, they livened up the exterior by planting trees and creeping vines and refreshed the front door with a vibrant red hue.

Luxurious amenities include a home theater, pool cabana with a full bar, temperature-controlled wine room, stylish library, glass-walled gym, and championship tennis court with a pavilion.

The home remains on the market—but that hasn’t stopped the star from leaving it, and Los Angeles, behind.

She explained to Marie Claire that, even when it comes to her on-screen work or her budding career as a producer, she does not look to L.A. as a filming location, preferring to shoot elsewhere.

Two of her most recent on-screen projects—the CNN series “Searching for Mexico” and its follow-up, “Searching for Spain”—saw her spending months in both of those countries. Though she returned to the U.S. to campaign for Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, she no longer considers it her home.

Longoria has owned property in Mexico for several years now, revealing in her 2023 series “Searching for Mexico” that she first became infatuated with the country when she and her husband—who hails from Mexico—began dating.

“I’ve had a home here ever since I fell in love with a chilango [local person],” she said, referring to her husband. The two of them “spend as much time here as we can.”

She purchased her villa in the Spanish town of Marbella more recently, revealing in a January 2024 interview with Hello! that she had been hunting for a home there for five years before she finally stumbled across her dream property.

“The first time I came to Marbella, two decades ago, it was love at first sight. I said to myself: ‘Some day I’ll live here,'” she revealed. “Finally, in early 2023, this house came on the market.

“It needed refurbishing, but it had just the size and location I was after. So, taking advantage of the fact that I was in Barcelona filming, I came down and bought it that same day.”
