Gymnast Simone Biles leaned into a life of leisure this week, when she spent the afternoon soaking up the sun at her palatial lakefront mansion in Texas—while sporting a baseball hat with the phrase "rich wife" emblazoned across the front.

Biles, 29, who is married to NFL star Jonathan Owens, shared several Instagram Stories snaps from her relaxing Monday afternoon, when she took time out from her usually busy schedule in order to break in the waterfront infinity-edge pool at her newly built home in Spring, TX.

In the first of two photos shared by the Olympian, Biles, who has an estimated net worth of $25 million, could be seen standing on the steps of the sparkling swimming pool, its custom black-and-white tile visible beneath her feet. Sporting a navy blue bathing suit—and holding a monochrome pool float—the athlete made a pouty face at the camera as she posed.

The second image was taken from behind Biles, showing the back of her tongue-in-cheek cap, with "rich wife" written across the front, her initials, "S.B." on one side, an American flag on the other, and the letters "F.A.A.F.O" on the back, which traditionally stand for the phrase, "F--k around and find out."

It appears the cap—which is from the brand Richwife—was customized especially for Biles, with images of the original design on its website showing the headwear without any initials or lettering on the back or sides.

This summer will mark the first opportunity that Biles and Owens, 30, have had to really enjoy the full range of outdoor amenities at their opulent lake house, which was only completed in November after several years of construction.

However, the happy couple—who celebrated their third wedding anniversary earlier this month—did not get the opportunity to really settle into the home until February, when they relocated back to Texas from Illinois, where they were based while Owens was playing for the Chicago Bears.

Still, they may only have a few months to really soak up the time in their home, with Owens due to join the Indianapolis Colts for the 2026 NFL season, which will require him to relocate to the Indiana city ahead of preseason training, which typically begins in July.

Luckily, Biles has committed to spending more time than ever at her dwelling after being left stunned by the soaring cost of attending red carpet events.

Biles, who has become a regular fixture at celebrity events in recent years—particularly after taking a step back from professional sport—took to TikTok in April to lament the jaw-dropping cost of red carpet preparation, claiming that the price of her stylist fee, along with her hair and makeup artists, for a recent event hit a sky-high $23,000.

The three-time Olympian began her video by asking her fellow celebrities, athletes, and influencers to share their experiences, questioning whether the price she had paid was the "new normal," adding that, if it is, she is happy to skip all future events.

"If you're a celebrity, athlete, influencer, these questions are for you," she said, while relaxing in the living room of her custom-built mansion.

"I just need to know if this is normal. Because I know going outside is expensive as f--k these days, but is it this expensive? I just recently had a red carpet event [and] with the stylist fee, hair and makeup team, my grand total ... any guesses? I'll wait. It's probably higher than what you're thinking. Keep going.

"Yeah, $22,000. Actually $23,000."

Biles further noted that while she "gets inflation" and appreciates that "prices these days have gone up," she does not feel equipped to continue paying that sum every time she needs to attend an event—claiming that she will simply turn down future invitations if she's going to have to fork out that much to feel her best in front of the cameras.

"I just want to know, is that f--king normal? I get inflation, I get prices these days have gone up," she went on. "But if that's the new norm, you all can have it, you all will never see me at another event. I'm going to sit my ass right here, where it's free. Free!"

The gymnastics superstar then questioned others who attend these kind of star-studded events to share their own experiences, asking whether anyone else has encountered such a significant price tag attached to glam services.

She then joked that, if $23,000 is the expectation moving forward, she would sooner return to her gymnastics career than continue pursuing a more celebrity-centric career path.

"So yeah, please just let me know below in the comments, because I'm kind of spiraling since then," she shared. "Because I see a lot of y'all at events and there's no way you guys are paying these prices each and every time. Because some of y'all be outside for real.

"But there's just no way. And if so, baby let me go put that leotard back on, because ... yeah. Actually no, I just won't go."

Biles later doubled down on this commitment to focusing on her home life when she skipped the Met Gala in order to spend a cozy date night at the property with her husband.

While Hollywood's biggest stars descended upon the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Biles opted for a much more low-key evening at home with Owens, revealing on her Instagram Stories that the couple spent the night cooking up a delicious feast inside the custom property.

The first photo shared by the gymnast showed a tray of freshly baked muffins, while a second captured a proud Owens holding up a homemade pizza, which appears to have served as their dinner.

Biles and Owens have spent the last three months settling into their new abode, with the gymnast sharing several glimpses at the many special touches they have included around the property, which sits on the edge of a man-made lake outside of Houston.

Their bedroom, for example, was designed to rival the luxury found at a five-star resort, complete with a mirrored ceiling, electronic drapes, and a private patio overlooking the pool.

Meanwhile, the primary bathroom has been outfitted with a $599 red light shower head from Higher Dose that is meant to support "circulation, cellular energy, skin health, and overall balance."

Biles also revealed in March that she and Owens had ordered their own golf cart for the property, so they can cruise around the neighborhood without having to use their cars.

As for the more personal touches in their dwelling, Biles has begun adding nods to her impressive career inside her private office, which she revealed is now home to several framed accolades, including her Sports Illustrated cover from January 2025, when she was named as the magazine's Sportsperson of the Year 2024.

Above that sits another Sports Illustrated cover, this time featuring Biles posing alongside her fellow Olympians Michael Phelps and Katie Ledecky. They were hailed as "The Greatests: Stars of a Red Hot American Summer" after their stellar performances at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.

A poster from the Gold Over America Tour—a program that Biles began in September 2021, following that year's Olympics in Tokyo—completes the trio of framed achievements.

Interestingly, Biles appears to have made no move toward selling the couple's former dwelling, a palatial property located three miles away from their new home, which she bought back in July 2020. The couple used that home at their primary residence while they were waiting for work on their custom mansion to be completed.

She has previously admitted that they spent a lot longer residing in that property than they had originally planned, explaining that when their new home was finally completed, it had been a much more arduous process than she had realized.

At the time, the gymnast joked that she had been "lied" to by project managers who originally told her it would take nine months.

"Home building requires a lot of patience," she wrote, while sharing a video of herself and Owens that was taken when only the framework of the home had been built.

"Started the design process in 2020 and took a year to complete," she said of the first step they took in their homebuilding journey.

"Approvals took a while from [the] HOA; broke ground in Feb 2022; completed 11/11/25," she added. "They lied when they said nine months to build!"

Still, the gold medalist was quick to voice her pride at having finally finished the mansion: "Anyways proud of us. ILYSM @jowens," she wrote.
