Most folks know the Hamptons as a chic, upscale summer retreat for the rich and famous.

But this well-known beach community is pretty awesome in the off season too.

So if you’ve got some extra dough on hand, you might consider renting this lil’ beach house from none other than musician Rufus Wainwright. It’ll cost you a pretty penny, though: $25,000 a month.

The singer-songwriter’s two-bedroom, two-bath house is situated at the tip of Long Island in Montauk, NY. Here’s a look at charming setup.

Storied setting

While this cottage is on the small side and decidedly quaint, it does have a strong musical pedigree—it was once owned by Irving Berlin, the iconic American composer and lyricist.

And the property is also historic in another way. It’s one of a group of homes known as the Leisurama houses, which were prefabricated dwellings you could actually buy from Macy’s department store in the 1960s.

The interior vibe is from the ’50s, per the listing, and is a jumble of colors and textures from the era. And the location is ideal, since the house is in Hither Hills on a very quiet plot. The property is fully fenced, which enhances the home’s privacy and its safety for dogs and kids.

The home also comes with a sizable deck for outdoor entertaining. Plus, there’s a secret, outdoor shower and a garage that includes its own bathroom. This separate space also features a studio and comes with a piano owned by Wainwright.

Located close to the action in the hipster haven of Montauk, the rental also has proximity to the Hither Hills Ocean Beach, with one of the best perks in the area—access to parking.

Wainwright was raised in Montreal and has notably musical parents, Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle. Grammy-nominated Wainwright has released 11 albums so far and has written operas and music for film and television.

His latest album, “Folkocracy,” includes duets with such musical legends as Chaka Khan and Brandi Carlile.
