Benny Blanco Reveals How He and Selena Gomez Hope to Raise Their Future Kids—After Buying $35 Million Marital Mansion

Benny Blanco is opening up about his hopes of starting a family with wife Selena Gomez—and the kind of parent he wants to be as the couple settles into married life.

Blanco, 38, spoke candidly about his excitement over becoming a father during an appearance on Jenna Bush Hager’s “Open Book with Jenna,” revealing that he hopes to use lessons from his own childhood when the time comes to raise children with Gomez.

His comments come after the couple purchased a sprawling $35 million mansion, giving them a luxurious place to put down roots as they look toward their future together.

“Some of the negative things from my childhood are what helped me really get where I want to be and gave me the courage and bravery to do something different,” Blanco said. “I’m not afraid. I mean, I of course want to be the best parent, the best partner. I’m excited when that day finally comes.”

Blanco also acknowledged that he doesn't expect himself to be a perfect parent, explaining that he believes making mistakes—and learning from them—is an inevitable part of raising a child.

“I’m convinced that when that finally does happen, I am going to make mistakes, and that’s okay,” he said. “Failure in real life, that’s what’s going to make my kid, that’s what’s going to screw ‘em up a little, but that’s what’s going to make them special.”

“I do think it’s important, because we all have those blemishes on our report card, but that’s what makes it look so good when you did have that blemish, and then you’re like, now I have an ‘A,’” he continued.

Blanco's glimpse into how they will raise their future kids comes after they splashed out on an enormous $35 million marital abode in Beverly Hills in December 2024—the very same week they got engaged.

They shared their exciting relationship update on Dec. 11, when the actress shared a series of images of herself modeling a dazzling diamond on that finger, revealing that her beau popped the question while they were enjoying a Taco Bell picnic.

However, what she didn't reveal at the time was that she and Blanco had just closed on a stunning seven-bedroom, 12-bathroom dwelling, which they purchased on Dec. 4, according to records seen by Realtor.com®.

The property actually comprises two lots that are home to an expansive main residence and two separate guesthouses—one of which boasts its own studio, while the other houses a home theater.

Prior to being purchased by Gomez and Blanco, the property was owned by a famous Hollywood director, according to TMZ, which first reported the news of the sale.

When the singer and her fiancé bought the home, it marked one of the priciest sales in the area in 2024.

The Spanish-inspired, opulent pad features a spiral staircase and library. Outside the mansion, there is a fitness center, pool, and a glass greenhouse solarium, which is a nod to Blanco's green thumb; the singer has been known to use his garden to give back to the community.

The property is surrounded by lush landscaping and features sophisticated stone flooring encompassing the pool.

Gomez and Blanco purchased the property in an off-market deal that was carried out via an LLC that is associated with the music producer's business manager.

The property was last sold in August 2021, when it was picked up for $30.7 million.

At the time, it was described in its listing as a "true masterwork" and a "perfect combination of authentic details, fine craftsmanship, and the best modern amenities."

The listing noted that the home featured an array of different living spaces, including a "fairytale playroom" and a "sensational living room."

Gomez recently shared a glimpse inside the couple's martial home, revealing that they have focused on incorporating color into the property with vibrant shelves and blue cabinets in their kitchen.

She also shared a photo of the backyard, revealing that it comes complete with lush greenery and a rose-covered patio.
