Christina Haack and Ant Anstead Reunite for Son Hudson’s Big Day at School

HGTV star Christina Haack had a smile-filled reunion with her second husband, Ant Anstead, as the co-parents celebrated a special day at school with their 7-year-old son, Hudson London Anstead.

The British TV host shared a look at the family’s time together in a Sept. 18 Instagram post, writing a heartfelt caption alongside a series of photos of the trio—but mostly of Hudson—from the school event.

“Our not so little boy celebrated his ‘marvelous me’ day at school with his class sharing special things about him,” Anstead wrote. “Hudzo we love you and we are so proud of you.”

The doting dad elaborated on the concept of a “marvelous me” day.

“Listening to the class talk about what a wonderful boy you are was special,” he added. “Hudzo impacts everyone he meets, and we already know it!”

Anstead’s record of the day even included a special shoutout to Haack.

“Oh and mum of course brought the class donuts for the win!” he added, the claim evidenced with a photo of the former couple’s son enjoying a sprinkled pastry.

Haack shared more about their son in a Sept. 6 post celebrating his 7th birthday.

“My sweet boy, I adore you and your kind soul!” she wrote. “Smart, adventurous, helpful, silly, and a full on Virgo when it comes to organization. I am so lucky to be your mama! We love you.”

Anstead shared a tribute in an Instagram post that day, as well.

“Hudzo you were born with a light! An unmistakable GLOW around you! You shine with a beautiful blend of fun, cheekiness, love and so much kindness!” he wrote.

Accompanied by a slideshow-style video of photos of Hudson over the years, the motor specialist continued to gush, adding, “You are an utterly brilliant boy and it is a privilege to watch you grow and thrive. I love being your father!”

Just three days later, Anstead posted an Instagram Reel to reveal how Hudson celebrated his birthday with friends—a pizza and cupcake–fueled party at an Orange County Soccer Club game, where Hudson was “made honorary captain” for the night and got to enjoy “pitch time with 40 of his pals.”

Haack and Anstead—who married in 2018 and split in 2020—seem to be enjoying a much friendlier relationship these days, compared to the near five-year feud they previously endured.

The duo had a difficult divorce and custody battle, and maintained an acrimonious relationship until Haack eventually ended her union with third husband Josh Hall, whom she was married to from 2021 to 2025.

In February 2025, Haack explained how her subsequent divorce healed her relationship with Anstead.

“Ant and I split up when Hudson was 1, and now Hudson is 5. Between the time of his first birthday and, I would say, fifth birthday, we did not communicate a lot,” she said during an episode of “The Flip Off.” Their dynamic shifted after a trip to Anstead’s home to pick up their son.

“When I walked up to the door, he gave me a huge hug. We hadn’t hugged in years,” she recalled. “And he just said, ‘I’m so sorry for everything that you’re going through and I’m here for you no matter what you need.”

Haack added that they had a “long talk” afterward, which resulted in deciding “to put all the BS aside and be good co-parents.”

The connection with Anstead isn’t the only successful co-parenting relationship Haack is navigating these days.

The interior designer also shares daughter Taylor Reese El Moussa, 16, and son Brayden James El Moussa, 11, with her first husband and co-star, Tarek El Moussa.

Haack and El Moussa remain close and spend a lot of time together, along with their new partners. El Moussa is now married to Heather El Moussa, and Haack is dating Christopher Larocca.

The group recently took a trip to Napa, CA, to celebrate Heather’s birthday.

Anstead also has a more recent relationship, as he’s been dating actress Renée Zellweger since 2021.

The pair met on the set of “Celebrity IOU: Joyride” in April of that year, with news of their pairing becoming public in June. By September 2021, they had shared their coupling with the world in an Instagram post.

Anstead has two older children, Amelie Anstead and Archie Anstead, whom he welcomed with his first wife, Louise Storey.
