EXCLUSIVE: Historic $7.5 Million L.A. Home That Tim Curry Lovingly Restored Finds a Buyer Just Hours After His Death

A historical Los Angeles property that late actor Tim Curry spent years carefully restoring to its former glory has come under offer, just hours after news of the "Rocky Horror" star's passing was announced.

The sprawling property, which is located in Los Feliz, was purchased by the actor for just $650,000 in 1993—and then underwent a multiyear renovation by Curry, who later showcased the results of the transformation in a shoot for Architectural Digest.

Drawing on inspiration from European design style, Curry—who passed away at the age of 80, 14 years after he suffered a major stroke—transformed the house into a warm, eclectic abode that would later be owned by a host of other famous faces, including "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson, "The Pitt" actor Noah Wyle, and "The Big Bang Theory" comedian Jim Parsons.

The four-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom spread was most recently listed for just under $10 million in July 2025, however it has since undergone several price cuts that eventually brought the ask down to $7.5 million on Aug. 6 of this year.

When news of Curry's death was revealed to the public, the home—which is listed with Ben Belack of Alex Everest—was still on the market, however records how now been updated to reflect that it has come under "contingent" offer, meaning that the seller has accepted an offer, but certain conditions need to be meet before the deal can close.

The listing description for the property made no secret of the home's very impressive Hollywood heritage, noting some of the incredible work that Curry had done to restore it during his ownership—as well as the other high-profile people who have called it home over the years.

"This transportive residence made its Architectural Digest debut in August 1924, just two years after completion. It returned to the magazine's pages in 1998, documenting Tim Curry's meticulous restoration of the property's original details: exposed wood-beam ceilings, hand-painted surfaces, stained-glass windows, iridescent copper, and vintage tile," it reads.

Curry sold the property for $2.6 million in 2001—at which point he moved on to his next renovation project in the Los Angeles area, ultimately transforming several residences in the city, including one that he ended up selling to actress Christina Ricci in 2005.

However, his former Los Feliz abode continued its journey as one of Hollywood's most remarkable residences, one that has been carefully tended to by a number of major stars.

Indeed, the listing further notes that additional updates to the property were made by "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul, who worked with the design studio Commune Design to carry out a renovation in 2019.

"The years have brought a remarkable procession of custodians, including [former NBA star] Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Noah Wyle, Robert Pattinson, Jim Parsons, and Aaron Paul, who engaged Commune Design in 2019 to bring the property forward without disturbing their century of character," it adds.

When Curry showed off his own renovation of the property in his Architectural Digest shoot, he explained that the design of the home had been inspired by a trip he made to Ireland, when he had the opportunity to visit an estate owned by the storied Guinness family.

"It was the most beautiful and comfortable house I’d ever been to," he recalled, adding of its interior: "There was an extraordinary range of paintings and just the sort of patina—and obsessions—of several centuries of people who’d lived there, with everything having a layer of dog over it. A great jumble it was, all arranged by an eye."

Around 10 years after he moved to Los Angeles from the U.K., Curry was taken by his friend and fellow actor Annie Potts to view the Los Feliz property, which he soon realized was the place where he might be able to bring his own interior design dreams to life.

However, while he noted that he made an offer almost as soon as he laid eyes on it, he quickly began panicking when he learned that another interested party had withdrawn their offer after a psychic told her "the house was haunted."

"I soon learned that the previous bidder had been told by her psychic that the house was haunted and had just withdrawn from escrow," he revealed.

Thankfully, Curry did not allow any eerie rumors to deter him from securing the home, which was originally built in 1922, having been designed by acclaimed architect Stiles O. Clements.

Now known as the Seyler House, the property featured a number of Spanish-inspired design details that quickly won Curry over, he explained, noting that it managed to create a Mediterranean aesthetic, without going too over the top.

"It has none of those elements one sees so often: festivals of wrought iron, little Juliet balconies, guitars strumming in every corner," he recalled in his 1998 interview.

Curry maintained many of those original design details, while adding his own eccentric flair to the home, including several bold-hued rooms, like a dark persimmon dining space and a soft green living area.

Today, the home still boasts a textured, warm feel, coupled with several color-drenched spaces, such as a dark teal den—and a kitchen with bold green cabinets. The soft green remains in the primary bedroom, which also features moody fabrics, such as a tapestry hanging on the wall and heavy patterned curtains.

One of the more standout design elements is a "secret passageway" that leads to a speakeasy tucked away behind a vault, the listing notes.

"The inside is arranged with the measured confidence of Spanish Colonial design at its most resolved, delightfully adding a secret passageway to a speakeasy behind a combination vault," it states.

Outside of the 4,000-square-foot dwelling itself, residents can enjoy the run of an incredibly lush 1.45-acre parcel, which includes a beautiful courtyard, intimate entertaining spaces, and a maze of small lanes leading to different gardens and ponds.

"Akin to a verdant park, the grounds cascade to DTLA skyline views and unfold across a freeform pool, flat grassy pads, fire pits, a koi pond, a cold plunge, spa, and a natural amphitheater that feels drawn from somewhere between Andalusia and the Santa Monica Mountains," the description adds.

"It’s rather like designing a set for the life you wish to pursue," Curry said of his inspiration for the design of the home. "When I truly had a place that I wished to call home, I wanted it to be equally marvelous for my great friends, the other ‘cast members.'"
