Former Memphis Grizzlies player Ja Morant has quietly listed a Miami property that he purchased just five months ago—putting the property on the market for $3.35 million, just days before it was reported that he has been traded to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Morant, 26, who is a two-time NBA All Star, snapped up the "striking modern residence" for $3.2 million via a trust listed under his full name, Temetrius Morant, at the end of December 2025, not long before rumors began to emerge that local team the Miami Heat were considering adding him to their lineup.

However, as speculation about Morant's future continued to swirl, behind the scenes, he appeared to make clear that Miami was not where he would write the next chapter in his career when he returned his Florida manse to the market on May 18.

Just over one month later, on June 29, it was reported that Morant had been traded by the Grizzlies—not to the Heat but to the Trail Blazers, who sent Jerami Grant and Kris Murray to Oregon in return.

The Grizzlies confirmed the news of the trade in a statement in which they paid tribute to Morant, writing on social media: "12, thank you for every highlight, every memory, every unforgettable moment and for all you've given this team, this community and this city."

It is unclear whether Morant's decision to list his Miami home after owning it for just a matter of months was in any way linked to his NBA career moves—however, it appears he is done with Florida, at least for now.

Still, for anyone looking to lay down new roots in the Sunshine State, Morant's soon-to-be former home could well be the perfect place to do so.

The five-bedroom, five-bathroom home is located in Miami's Buena Vista neighborhood and features just under 3,500 square feet of living space.

"This striking modern residence in Buena Vista offers a seamless blend of luxury, design and functionality set on a fully gated lusciously landscaped property," the listing reads.

The modern residence features an open-concept layout with soaring ceilings, oversized windows and a chef's kitchen outfitted with premium appliances.

An expansive primary bedroom features a large walk-in closet, spa-worthy bathroom with a sizable soaking tub, and a private balcony that overlooks the lush landscape surrounding the home.

Outside, the property offers a private backyard retreat complete with a pool, covered patio and lush landscaping, creating a secluded oasis just minutes from the city's Design District and Wynwood neighborhoods.

There is also a built-in barbecue station, complete with multiple beverage fridges and a wet bar with a built-in beer pump, images show.

The listing notes that the property is available to buy fully-furnished, should a buyer wish to take on a truly turnkey abode.

Morant's decision to buy in South Florida fueled speculation that he could eventually land with the Heat, who were frequently mentioned among potential destinations during months of trade rumors.

The trade also comes as Morant is attempting to part ways with a South Florida property he purchased only months ago during a wave of rumors linking him to a potential move to the Miami Heat. (Realtor.com)

Instead, the 26-year-old guard—who is originally from South Carolina—will now head to Portland, where he will join a star-studded lineup that includes Deni Avdija, Donovan Clingan, and Toumani Camara.

While he has already made the decision to part ways with his Miami pad, Morant has not yet made any movement on his Memphis home, which he purchased for $1.33 million in 2019, the same year that he was drafted by the Grizzlies.

Located in Eads, TN—a tony suburb outside of Memphis—the six-bedroom, 6.5-bathroom abode is situated on a 7.4-acre lot around a 40-minute drive from the team's home court at the FedEx Forum.

The home, which was built in 2005, boasts a two-car garage and a resort-style pool.

It is unclear whether he will decide to offload the dwelling now that he is moving teams.

Selected No. 2 overall in the 2019 NBA Draft, Morant quickly emerged as the face of the Grizzlies franchise, earning Rookie of the Year honors before becoming a two-time All Star.

However, injuries and off-court issues limited his availability over the past several seasons, prompting Memphis to move in a new direction.

According to ESPN, he has run into some trouble for his behavior over the years and was handed a 25-game suspension in March 2023 for "conduct detrimental to the league." He then faced another 25-game suspension for the 2023-24 season.

The outlet states that both incidents were sparked by Morant's social media activity after he was seen showing off a firearm in an Instagram Live video.

While his basketball future now lies in Oregon, Morant's brief venture into the Miami real estate market appears to be coming to an end before it ever truly began.
