Inside Billionaire Heiress Jessica Pegula’s Jaw-Dropping Family Property Portfolio—and Incredible Buffalo Legacy

U.S. tennis sensation Jessica Pegula's impressive run at the 2026 Wimbledon Grand Slam has come to an end at the hands of her countrywoman, Coco Gauff, who claimed victory in their on-court matchup on July 7, securing herself a spot in the semifinals.

Pegula, 31, who hails from Buffalo, NY, actually went into the match as the more impressively ranked player, earning the No. 4 seed in the competition, while Gauff, 22, was ranked seventh.

However, after taking an early lead, winning the first set 6-4, Pegula began to falter, with Gauff claiming the next two sets 6-3—cementing her place in the semifinals round of Wimbledon, where she will face Czech player Karolína Muchová.

It marks the second time that Pegula has reached the quarterfinals of the British tournament, only to fall at that hurdle, equaling the progress she made at Wimbledon in 2023.

Speaking to reporters after the match, the Florida-based tennis player, who is the daughter of Buffalo Bills owners Terry Pegula and Kim Pegula, praised Gauff's performance, particularly when it comes to her serve, which she admitted she found hard to predict.

"I mean, with her serve, she can serve really well, and then obviously sometimes she can throw in some double-faults. I think that’s what makes it so hard to play against, is you’re not really sure what’s coming," she said during a press conference.

She added: "Maybe you think, oh, she’s not going to serve that well. I think what’s tough on this surface is if she does serve well, she serves big and she serves really good."

It had been hoped that Wimbledon might mark Pegula's first Grand Slam win; she reached the finals of the U.S. Open in 2024, only to lose out to world No. 1 seed Aryna Sabalenka, who was knocked out of this year's Wimbledon tournament by Naomi Osaka.

Pegula will now have to set her sights on this year's U.S. Open, which kicks off in New York on Aug. 30, and where she will likely face another series of tricky hurdles on her path to a Grand Slam win.

Still, Pegula is no stranger to pressure as far as high-level sports are concerned, having been raised in a family that boasts an incredible athletic heritage.

In addition to the Buffalo Bills, the Pegula family—which is worth an estimated $9.3 billion—also owns the NHL team the Buffalo Sabres, as well as the NLL team the Buffalo Bandits.

However, Pegula's tennis career flourished outside of her hometown of Buffalo. The sporting star spent her early years living in Pittsburgh; however, her family relocated to South Carolina so that she could benefit from high-level coaching when her talents on the court became clear.

She then turned pro in 2009.

These days, Pegula resides with her husband, wealth management executive Taylor Gahagen, and their dogs in Boca Raton, FL, where her family also owns a huge equestrian spread.

However, she has previously denied rumors that she flaunts her wealth, previously stating, "People think I have a butler, that I get chauffeured around, that I have a private limo, that I fly private everywhere. I'm definitely not like that."

Property records show that her main residence is a five-bedroom, five-bathroom dwelling in Boca, which she bought for $900,000 in 2017—and continues to live in to this day.

However, should she need a change of scenery, Pegula has her pick of expansive properties to bed down in, thanks to her parents' very impressive collection of real estate, which features homes across multiple locations in the U.S., from New York to the Sunshine State.

Terry, 75, made his fortune in the oil and gas industry, later selling the majority of its assets to Royal Dutch for a reported $4.7 billion in 2010. Since then, he pivoted to sports ownership. He bought the Sabres in 2011 for $189 million and picked up the Bills in 2014 for $1.4 billion.

However, tragedy struck the Pegula family in June 2022, when Kim, 57, suffered a cardiac arrest that ultimately caused significant brain damage and memory issues. She was declared legally incapacitated in March 2023, according to The Athletic, and continues to undergo rehabilitation.

Kim made her first public appearance since suffering from the cardiac arrest in July 2024, when she attended the Bills' training camp practice alongside her husband.

It's understood that Terry and Kim are primarily based at their impressive abode in Florida, however they still retain residences in New York, where they can stay whenever they need to be in Buffalo for games and appearances.

Camelot Farms

The Buffalo Bills owners have their very own version of Camelot: Camelot Farms in Boca Raton, which is located just a stone's throw from their daughter's primary residence.

The Pegulas picked up the property in 2010 for $6.5 million, according to The Real Deal.

The 12-acre, "majestically landscaped" equestrian estate sits on a 194-acre community of horse farms. Photos of the spread aren't available, but the posh property is said to be anchored by a 14,000-square-foot, eight-bedroom home.

There's also an air-conditioned garage with room for two stretch limos, plus a 40,000-gallon heated outdoor pool has "granite-like rocks, a waterfall, and spa surrounded by a patio," according to past listing notes.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, given their ties to elite sports, the property also comes complete with multiple sports courts, including two tennis courts, as well as a half basketball court.

The property includes a stable with 35-foot ceilings, eight stalls, and an upstairs grooms' quarters.

A 1970s horse home

The Pegulas also have a second, smaller horse-related property nearby.

They grabbed the four-bedroom, 1970s property in 2014 for $585,900. The charming home comes with a pool and four-stall horse barn on nearly 2 acres in the "sought-after community of Horseshoe Acres."

The "Equestrian's dream" was marketed as a "great opportunity" to own additional acreage in Boca Raton. Plus, the home is set in a community with 190 acres of riding trails and "beautiful" landscape.

New York

The owners of the Buffalo-based sports teams sold a three-bedroom, waterfront townhome in Buffalo, NY, selling it for $1.15 million in 2021. They had purchased the place in 2017.

The couple also own a home about 20 miles outside of Buffalo, in East Aurora, NY.

Purchased in 2018 for $2.5 million, the seven-bedroom, seven-bath, 12,311-square-foot home sits on 54 acres. Built in 1997, the brick abode includes a fireplace, two stories, and a pool outside.

They also reportedly own a historic lodge in the Adirondacks that they purchased from music star Shania Twain and then-husband producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange.

The lakefront property, known as Sunbeam Lodge, dates back to the early 20th century and had been a summer camp for boys, a sportsman’s hotel, and St. Lawrence University research center. Twain bought the retreat for $3,250,000 in the early 1990s, then refurbished and expanded the 28,000-square-foot residence to add a recording studio.

Terry and Kim purchased the place in Saint Regis Falls, NY, for about half of the musician's $9 million asking price. They picked up the waterfront property as one of their “getaway destinations" and had it redone in the "classic tradition of the Adirondacks."

Wexford, PA

Since 1998, the Pegulas have also owned a property in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. Through an entity associated with their business, they purchased this brand-new build back in 1998 for $197,000.

The brick abode features five bedrooms across 6,516 square feet on over 6 acres.

Hilton Head, SC

Should the family desire oceanfront recreation, they can head to their "exquisite" four-bedroom condo in Hilton Head, SC, for golf and beach time.

The Pegulas picked up the warm-weather escape in the popular vacation destination in 2005 for $4,075,000.

Las Vegas

The family also own adjoining units on the Las Vegas strip at the swanky MGM Signature Grand.

They have a one-bedroom, 1.5-bath condo on a high floor, as well as a 520-square-foot unit next door.

Nashville, TN

The couple own Sound Stage Studios, one of Music City's "most prestigious and historic recording facilities" on Music Row.

Brentwood, TN

The Pegulas also have property holdings in Tennessee, which adds up because Terry and Kim are part-owners of the Black River Entertainment record label.

They snapped up a five-bedroom estate near Music City for about $2.2 million in 2017.

The stately, 9,694-square-foot residence overlooks the 17th fairway of The Governors Club golf course. The Pegulas' home features five bedroom suites, a theater, spacious living areas, outdoor living space, and a pool.
