Bilt is adding a new concierge service to its membership platform, just a few months after rolling out partnerships with Venmo and UWM that help homeowners earn rewards on mortgage and rent payments.

The company announced the beta launch of Neighborhood Concierge on Feb. 26. The service combines home management, local recommendations, and rewards redemption into a single assistant connected to a member's building, neighborhood merchants, and Bilt account.

What Neighborhood Concierge can do

According to Bilt, Neighborhood Concierge covers both home management and everyday tasks. Members can use it to pay rent or mortgage, submit maintenance requests, or book building amenities at participating Bilt properties. It can also make restaurant reservations, schedule rides, book fitness classes, and arrange grocery delivery.

Unlike a standard AI assistant, says Bilt, the concierge is built to complete tasks rather than just suggest them. Because it's connected to local merchants and a member's Bilt account, it can apply rewards and member benefits automatically without requiring action by the user.

Members can also use it to book travel, applying Bilt Points toward flights and hotels. Bilt says additional capabilities are planned in the coming months, including home repair, food delivery, and prescription transfers.

The service is also designed to become more personalized over time, learning member preferences the more it's used.

A crowded field

With Neighborhood Concierge, Bilt is delving into a competitive space. Companies like Amazon are already looking to push deeper into people’s relationship with their home and their everyday lives, with Alexa+ functioning as an AI-powered personal assistant that can handle complex tasks for you.

Where Bilt is carving out a distinct lane is in its focus on connecting members to the merchants and businesses in their immediate community—and rewarding them for engaging with it.

Rolling out now

The Neighborhood Concierge is launching first to Bilt's "Close Friends,” the company's early-access tier, with a broader rollout expected over the coming weeks.

Bilt also indicated to Realtor.com® that this service would not be confined to users of its new credit card lineup, but to all members.

That’s an important clarification, given the company’s busy recent history.

Credit card confusion

In January, Bilt introduced a new credit card lineup under the banner of Bilt 2.0, moving away from its previous Mastercard offering to three new tiers issued by Cardless: the no-annual-fee Bilt Blue Card, the $95-per-year Bilt Obsidian Card, and the premium Bilt Palladium Card at $495 annually. All three earn both Bilt Points and the newly introduced Bilt Cash on everyday spending, with no transaction fees on rent or mortgage payments.

The card launch hit some early friction. Shortly after the Jan. 14 rollout, CEO Ankur Jain issued a clarifying statement addressing confusion around how housing rewards are earned under the new structure. The updated system ties points multipliers on rent and mortgage payments to everyday spending, with members earning higher rates the more they use the card for daily purchases.

For members who preferred the original structure, Bilt kept that option available as well, allowing cardholders to earn 4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday spending and redeem it within the Bilt ecosystem.
