His tenacity and against-all-odds comeback story made him a fan favorite in the Bay Area. His return engagement was also a huge success—he wound up being a key member of the Giants’ World Series wins in 2012 and 2014. After retiring in 2017, he joined the Giants organization to work with young pitchers, helping them develop their games.
