Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have revealed a rare glimpse at their lives with children Archie and Lilibet inside their $14.65 million Montecito, CA, mansion while sharing a sweet family photo on their 2024 Christmas card.

The couple, who relocated to California in 2020 when they quit their roles as senior working royals, released their annual holiday card on Dec. 16, revealing a festive design filled with six photos of the duo throughout the year.

While the majority of snaps showed Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, taking part in various engagements while on trips to Colombia and Nigeria earlier this year, the pair did include one family snap taken on the grounds of their Montecito abode.

“On behalf of the office of Prince Harry & Meghan, the Duke & Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation, we wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful new year,” the card read.

The image, which is the first the couple have shared of their kids in several years, shows Harry and Meghan crouching down with their arms open, preparing to embrace Archie, 5, and Lili, 3, while surrounded by the family’s three dogs.

The couple purchased the property back in 2020 after falling in love with the lush gardens.

In the background of the image, the lush gardens of Harry and Meghan’s expansive dwelling provide the perfect setting for the sweet family moment.

The photo’s location is all the more meaningful given the significance of the property’s gardens in the couple’s lives. In 2022, Meghan revealed in an interview with The Cut that the grounds were actually the reason she and Harry decided to buy the nine-bedroom, 16-bathroom estate in the first place.

“One of the first things my husband saw when we walked around the house was those two palm trees,” she shared. “We did everything we could to get this house.”

Harry and Meghan bought the home in 2020, having relocated from the U.K. back to the former “Suits” star’s home country in March 2020, two months after announcing their decision to “step back as senior members” of the royal family.

Although Harry and Meghan have gone to great lengths to keep the interiors of their home private, they have shared a few small glimpses inside the property over the years—including images and clips that were aired as part of their 2022 Netflix series, “Harry & Meghan.”

The couple chose to shoot their on-camera interviews for the series in a rental property; however, they offered up some personal home videos to the streaming site for use in the six-episode series, some of which featured sneak peeks at their home.

That fierce desire to maintain their privacy appears to have irked at least one of their neighbors, who recently spoke out to criticize Harry and Meghan for their lack of involvement in the local community.

Speaking in a German documentary entitled “Harry: The Lost Prince,” Richard Mineards, one of the couple’s neighbors issued a withering assessment of Meghan, claiming that she has not been an “asset” to their neighborhood.

“I personally don’t think that Meghan is an asset to our community,” he said. “She doesn’t really go out or get involved with the community.”

Mineards, a journalist and TV correspondent who has lived in Montecito for 13 years, spoke more warmly of Harry, saying that the Duke of Sussex has a “jolly” demeanor but still tends to keep to himself as far as the locals are concerned.

“Harry has [gotten involved] to a certain extent, because he’s quite jolly … but Meghan doesn’t seem to get seen anywhere. … And you don’t see him either,” he went on, also noting that Harry and Meghan live a very privileged—and pricey—lifestyle in the area.

“It doesn’t come cheap. I mean … most houses are about 8 or 9 million dollars,” he went on.

Elsewhere in the documentary, royal-focused podcast host Jack Royston adds that the couple appears to have made themselves “part of an elite in America,” noting that this will do little to help their perception with people in the U.K.—or the royal family.

Despite the less-than-positive feedback from their neighbor, Harry insisted during a recent appearance at the DealBook Summit that he and Meghan love their life in the U.S., saying: “I very much enjoy living here and bringing up my kids here.”

Certainly, Harry and Meghan enjoy a very luxurious lifestyle in Montecito, where their sprawling, Mediterranean-style mansion sits on a property that is handsomely outfitted a pool, tennis court, and beautiful garden.
